Family Promise has been helping families experiencing homelessness since 1999. Families can stay in shelter up to 120 days.

Family Promise Rochester (formerly "IHN" or Interfaith Hospitality Network), is a nonprofit helping families experiencing homelessness. Family Promise Rochester provides these families the basic necessities of food, shelter and security while they are going through their personal crisis. In addition families receive case management and education through twice monthly Life Skills Classes. Our North Star House shelter has 3 bedrooms and 2 offices with an ED and case manager.

Last night we enjoyed a Family Promise picnic with the families staying in the Promise House and a few staff, volunteers, and board members.

The food was amazing, thanks to Catering By Design, and everyone enjoyed some tasty ice cream thanks to Flapdoodles Ice Cream!

Guests enjoyed their meals at picnic tables and on blankets on the grass with music, spikeball, and chalk!

Our community showed up big time today!!

A HUGE thanks to the Rochester Servant Event and Redeemer Lutheran Church - Rochester, MN for sending a team to help at the Promise House today. This amazing group accomplished some big tasks for us:

🌱Weeded around the Promise House, cut down overgrown trees and bushes, and dug out dead bushes.

🍂Raked fallen leaves around the grounds to clean up.

🪨Cleaned up our landscape rock and added more to fill in the gaps from winter.

🏀Put out our donated outdoor fun supplies for families to begin using now that summer is here.

🧽Disinfected toys and cleaned our play room area for the guests.

🚲Put out our NEW bikes and got them locked up on our bike rack.

🌱Laid grass seed and dirt to make our lawn more plush.

🦶Scraped up some stickers on our floors to clean and prepare for our upcoming event, the Homecoming, in September.

THIS is what it means to be community-based, one of our core values at Family Promise.

🏳️‍🌈 June is Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈

Check out our blog post about our time at Rochester Pride and the work we do to help all families.

Because every child deserves a home.

Our Kind of Neighborhood 🌈 June is Pride Month, and in Rochester that means a downtown full of color, music, and people showing up exactly as they are. Rochester Pride Fest is one of our favorite days of the year — and this time, we got to be right in the middle of it. We came with a plan: build a neighborhood.

Summer is here (or almost)!

Take some of your extra time this summer to volunteer with us at the Promise House.

Join our Cleaning Club and help keep our shelter and shared spaces clean and organized. You can also help clean guest rooms when families move into their new homes and prepare them for new guests. Volunteers in this role are not expected to volunteer on a regular basis. Most needs for cleaning are on-call or as needed.

Apply to become a volunteer today at https://volunteer.bloomerang.co/volunteer/ #/join-party?k=ax39xommvjbx0x!
