Mom. Gun violence prevention advocate. Michigander.

I ran this state house district in 2022.
Shawn Almeranti Crosby ran it in 2024.

Two cycles. Different years. Same truth: this district isn’t unreachable — it’s been taken for granted.

I moved it to 65/35.
Shawn held 68/32 in a brutal year.

Ned is earning trust — knocking doors, listening, and putting people over party.

You don’t change a district by yelling at it. You change it by showing up.

Today I was out knocking doors in Washington Township and met so many incredible people.
As I was driving out, I saw Evelyn walking down the street and decided to stop and talk with her—and wow, what a story. One thing she said really stuck with me: people have lost connection and we need to adapt our current lifestyle to the Constitution, not the other way around.
I’m grateful I got to meet her and hear her perspective. This is why I am doing this. Real conversations. Real people.
We’re going to keep building this campaign right here, boots on the ground, brick by brick.

I will never condone political violence. Gun violence is gun violence — always tragic, no matter who the victim is.

Support Chris Swanson! 07/20/2025

🟦🔴 We live in a purple state.
And it’s time Democrats started acting like it.

When I endorsed Sheriff Chris Swanson for Governor on Monday, the reaction was:
“An interesting choice...”
But the three words that matter most in this moment are:
Protect. Serve. Unify.

While other candidates jockey for position and trade in platitudes, Swanson’s building a coalition that actually looks like Michigan — rural, urban, labor, law enforcement, progressives, and yes, even skeptics.

Let’s be clear: he’s not an establishment Democrat.
He’s a public servant, a disrupter, and the only candidate who ran 14 points ahead of Kamala Harris in Genesee County.
Don’t believe me? Look at the 2024 Genesee County Sheriff results vs. the presidential map. That’s not luck — that’s leadership.

As a progressive feminist and advocate for reproductive freedom, I care deeply about protecting bodily autonomy — and Sheriff Swanson’s clear, unequivocal statement on choice speaks for itself.
The smear campaign trying to paint him otherwise is dishonest and desperate.

We don’t need more unicorn farts and empty slogans.
We need strength. We need solutions. We need substance.

Chris Swanson understands that being Governor means earning the trust of all Michiganders. And he’s doing just that.

But let’s be real: disrupters and outsiders don’t have PACs lined up around the block.
They don’t come with pre-baked donor lists or party machine pipelines.
They rely on us, the people, who are damn tired of politics as usual.

If you believe in what Chris is building, show it:

Join us on June 28th for our 4th annual March with Oxford, in collaboration with the End Gun Violence Michigan coalition.

Our march is part of Silence the Violence — a month of statewide events led by Church of the Messiah Detroit and End Gun Violence Michigan. Throughout the month, communities across Michigan come together to honor victims and advocate for stronger prevention, awareness, and action to stop gun violence before it happens.

They told us not to believe our own eyes.

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
— Orwell, 1984

Sound familiar?

They deny the shootings.
They rewrite the insurrections.
They whitewash the history.
They silence the truth-tellers and call the liars “patriots.”

They’re not hiding it anymore — they’re daring us to care.

Well, I do. I care. I remember. I see it. And I won’t shut up because it makes people uncomfortable.

If you’re more offended by people calling out fascism than by the fascism itself, congratulations — it’s already working on you.

Jon Stewart on Trump’s Win and What’s Next w/ Heather Cox Richardson | The Weekly Show 11/12/2024

I haven’t posted in a while and I’m not really sure who continues to follow me. If you’re still here, hello! As any responsible, burgeoning public servant should, I’m providing some useful information that could help people (if you’re still following along).

Attached is a podcast I found incredibly insightful and helpful. Heather Cox Richardson provides historical context to the shift in our country with last week’s election results while Jon Stewart masterfully poses questions where they BOTH postulate in real time. It’s literally a post-mortem on the election, what we might be able to expect and where we go from here. In my opinion, they’re brilliant together.

I hope you find it as helpful as I did. I also hope you’re doing ok and taking care of yourself and your loved ones.
