Do you know what that ball is for on your seam ripper? It's there to undo your seam!

Here's how to use it.

When you have to rip out a seam (like here when I sewed in my row upside down), put that little ball end underneath your seam. (Wrong side facing up). Then just pull your seam ripper along your seam like you're undoing a zipper! It's the easiest way to undo the seam.

Give it a try next time you say "oops". Follow me for more tips.

Let's bind a quilt in 12 seconds!

I've got a full length tutorial that details my whole process if you're looking for more detail.

But binding a quilt is just putting a strip of fabric around the edge to encapsulate the raw edge of the fabrics and keep the batting material inside.

There are different methods to do this, so if you're new it might take a bit of trial and error to find your way. But here's mine in a nutshell.

Cut 2.5" strips. Sew them together, placing them 90 degrees together and sewing a diagonal seam across the waist (not the crotch!)

Fold in half and sew to one side of the quilt with your raw edges all aligned. Join the ends (this can be tricky, see my tutorial for all the details for the easiest way to do it!) then flip your quilt over and sew to the other side.

Ready to see all the tips and tricks? Check out the you tube link in my bio for the "easiest way to bind a quilt"!

This quilt is made from Fireglow Fabrics, and was made for my dragon loving kiddo. It now lives on his bed.
