Five years ago, we walked through houses together dreaming about a future they could barely picture yet. It was one of the most competitive markets Rochester had ever seen with homes flying off the market, multiple offers everywhere, emotions running high. But through all the chaos, they kept talking about building a life, not just buying a house.

And then we found it. The home where their next chapter would begin.

It had room to grow into, room for traditions, room for quiet nights, busy mornings, and all the little moments that slowly turn a house into your place in the world. We fought through multiples and won, and over the last five years they did exactly what they hoped they would do there; they planted roots. They built a beautiful family. They created a life in Rochester that was full of love, memories, and meaning.

Then life surprised them.

A job opportunity closer to family in Wisconsin came along, and they applied almost casually… just to see what would happen. But sometimes the opportunities meant for you show up when you least expect them. The offer came, and suddenly they were faced with leaving a home and community they truly loved for a chance to be closer to the people who matter most.

Selling this home wasn’t easy. Every room held memories. Every corner told part of their story. They wanted the next owners to feel the same warmth and love they felt from the moment they moved in. So they approached the process with so much care and intention, trusting every recommendation I threw at them along the way.

And the market responded. Multiple offers came in within the first couple of days because other people could feel it too that this wasn’t just a house. It was a home that had been deeply loved.

Today they closed on their Rochester home and headed toward their next adventure in Wisconsin. New jobs. More family dinners. More support. More memories waiting to happen.

One of the greatest parts of this job is getting to witness people’s lives unfold in chapters and getting the privilege of helping them through the big moments in between. ❤️

This amazing family is officially Minnesota homeowners as they begin an exciting new chapter with her residency at Mayo Clinic. And after spending a whirlwind weekend together touring nearly 35 homes, I can confidently say… they made this process unbelievably fun.

From the nonstop banter to the quick comebacks and laughs between showings, I somehow fit right in with their crew. It honestly felt less like work and more like spending the weekend with friends while casually making one of life’s biggest decisions.

After narrowing it down to 3 very different homes, they had serious interest in a charming ranch home — only to find out it had just accepted an offer. But sometimes the house you lose leads you straight to the one you were supposed to have all along.

Today we closed on their dream home: a stunning new construction filled with floor-to-ceiling windows that completely bring the outdoors in. Bright, peaceful, and ready to hold so many memories for this incredible family.

And somehow, the timing became even sweeter because today also happened to be the matriarch’s birthday. A new home, a new city, and a brand new chapter… all starting on a day worth celebrating already. 🎉

There’s just something extra special about helping family find their first home 🏡

My cousin’s son started the home search thinking he had found “the one” right away… offer accepted, excitement high, dreams already moving in. But after inspections uncovered some expensive must-do updates, he made the tough (and smart) decision to walk away. First-time buyers, take notes — sometimes the right house is the one you DON’T buy. 👏

So we kept looking… and then THIS one showed up.

A well-cared-for home with no major essential updates, a 2-car garage PLUS an extra garage that is basically begging to become the ultimate man cave/hangout spot, a sunroom perfect for slow mornings, and a huge lot that somehow makes you forget you’re even in town.

We officially closed, and now he gets to make this place his own. Watching first-time buyers get those keys never gets old… but seeing family do it? That hits a little different. ❤️🔑

Also, I fully expect an invite when the garage hangout is complete. That’s basically written into the realtor contract. 😉

Big hats, fast horses, and apparently… impeccable timing 🍋🐎

Spent the afternoon at a Kentucky Derby party hosted by Southeast MN Realtors benefiting the REALTORS® Relief Foundation—and let’s just say, it did not disappoint. Between the festive outfits, great cause, tasty food, and even better company, it was one of those days that reminds you how lucky we are to be part of this community.

And in true “didn’t plan it” fashion, I unknowingly showed up ready to celebrate National Lemonade Day… a day early. So yes, there may have been a lemony situation happening alongside the mint juleps, and honestly, no regrets.

Even better? Getting to share it all with some of my Edina Realty crew—because everything’s more fun when you’ve got your people by your side.
