Tonight I captured the November Beaver Moon, glowing golden as it rose over the trees here in Rochester New York.

This moon marks the last full moon before winter’s onset — traditionally a time when beavers finish building their lodges and people prepared for the freeze ahead.

This year’s Beaver Moon appeared especially bright and close — a gentle reminder of how even as the days shorten, the light still finds its way through.
