Honor Bound Veterans put on another successful 5K, and we had the pleasure of rounding up some of our Veterans, residents, family members, and friends to volunteer and give back.

The weather was perfect, JT & the Gunslingers kept the energy high with a great performance, and it was wonderful cheering on everyone who participated.

A special thank you to Canadian Honker for generously providing gift cards to all of the volunteers!

Most importantly, thank you to our Veterans for your service, sacrifice, and dedication. We are grateful for organizations like Honor Bound Veterans that work to combat isolation among Veterans and provide meaningful support and connection, helping save lives and strengthening communities.

It was a fantastic day, and we were honored to be a part of it.

We had the best time exploring some local favorites alongside the river today!

From seeing majestic eagles at the National Eagle Center, to visiting the famous filming locations from Grumpy Old Men and Grumpier Old Men at Slippery’s, to rediscovering the old favorites at Lark Toys (and enjoying some delicious ice cream!), it was a wonderful day spent exploring, learning, and making memories together.

Meet Pat Musolf, a participant in our Live 2 B Healthy Balance & Strength class!

After caring for her husband, Pat decided it was time to focus on her own health and well-being. Since joining the class in January, she has found motivation, friendship, and support while building strength and confidence.

"I am not going to get any stronger or healthier by staying still. Just get up and move."

Pat enjoys the challenge of the class, the encouragement of the group, and the ability to adapt exercises to individual needs. Her goal is simple: stay active, healthy, and independent.

All proceeds benefit United Way of Southeast Minnesota's Running Start for School program, which provides brand-new backpacks and school supplies to more than 4,000 local students each year.

Thanks to the incredible support of our residents and community, we raised $10,000 last year to help local kids start the school year with confidence.
