We are excited to announce that Danielle Jagelski has joined our Board of Directors. She is an accomplished composer, conductor, producer and the artistic director and co-founder of Renegade Opera. Danielle is an enrolled citizen of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and Red Cliff Band of Ojibwe and has received support from The Plimpton Foundation in the past.
Danielle shares “when I was an emerging composer and conductor, The Plimpton Foundation helped open pathways where few existed, supporting not only my development in classical music, but the affirmation of Indigenous identity within it. Today, I am honored to serve on the board of directors and to help steward this essential work. At a moment when American culture and music are being reimagined, the Foundation’s mission of supporting Native music creators is urgent and transformative. The Plimpton Foundation is cultivating sonic sovereignty, artistic agency, and bold boundary-pushing artists: our Indigenous Future.”
Please join us in celebrating Danielle. We are so glad to have you supporting The Plimpton Foundation in this new way.
