This April marks more than 50yrs since the Fair Housing Act was passed, which is celebrated all month long.
Enacted in 1968, the purpose has been to eliminate racial segregation & housing discrimination as we once knew it.
Protected classes included race, color, national origin, religion, s*x, familial status, disability, age, and recently source of income. These apply to both renters & buyers.
As you’re navigating the market, be aware of your rights and make sure you choose a knowledgeable realtor who’s there to advocate for those rights.

In light of growing concerns over the impact of Covid-19, I would just like to share some precautions we're taking in the real estate industry to keep the market open & moving along, while keeping our communities safe.
As an attempt to limit group interactions, many sellers are opting to allow private showings only, or blocked showings on certain days & times. This reduces the amount of buyers and agents moving through their properties. You'll also see hand sanitizer, disinfecant, even gloves & booties at homes upon viewings in order to keep yourself & the home safe.
If you or members of your household are showing symptoms, have recently traveled, or may have been exposed to Covid-19, the CDC recommends self-quarantining for 14 days.
If you or anyone in your household are high risk, you may wish to hold off on any real estate activities until further notice.
Ultimately whether you decide to begin or continue your home search, or list your home at this time is completely up to you and your personal comfort level. Just know if you are ready to buy or sell, we are still here to assist you!
