This is one of the reasons why we don’t sell 3D print files — we only sell finished products.

3D printing is heavily affected by environmental factors. Even with the same file, same printer, and same settings, the results can still vary a lot.

Our M33V2(LC100 & LX470) armrest organizer is already a mature product, with over 1,000 sold in the past six months. But even so, we had a tough time producing them over the last couple of weeks. After 20–30 test prints and parameter adjustments, we finally got them close to perfect again yesterday.

The ones with obvious defects were discarded. We have around 10 lightly blemished units left. They still work perfectly.

Lexus GX460 overhead mount prototyping is underway.

Our overhead mounts can be developed for different setups, including Auxbeam 4-gang, 6-gang, and 8-gang switch panels, ScanGauge II and ScanGauge 3, Baja Designs sPOD / Switch-Pros style panels, Diode Dynamics switches, radio mounts such as the ICOM IC-2730, and Feniex 4200 Mini mounts. One of our main product lineups at Ben3DBuild is overhead mounts. Every single one is different, and every one comes with its own challenges.

This one looks simple from the outside, but the real challenge is matching the factory overhead console surface.

Most OEM console panels are not flat. They are compound curved surfaces, which means you cannot simply make a block, mold it, or force a flat part to sit on top. To make it look clean and factory-style, the mount has to follow the original shape closely, edge to edge.

Some factory sunglasses holders do not even fit well from the factory. That is why prototyping takes time.

This GX460 version is still in development, but the goal is the same as all of our overhead mounts:

Class A surface.
Clean fitment.
OEM-style integration.
No awkward gaps.

Sometimes I still wonder how we ended up creating over 100 products for the LC100 / LX470 platform, haha. But the answer is simple: it all came from customer needs, feedback, and suggestions.
