Huge honor for Greg to have been awarded the first Bill Angell Beef Herdsman Award.

We would like to give a big congratulations to Greg Crawford for being named the 2023 Bill Angell Beef Herdsman Award during the Open Class Supreme Drive at the 2023 Nebraska State Fair. This is peer nominated and voted on. We can not be more proud to have Greg represent the shorthorn breed!

Trying to get a picture of our 2x performance dam is going to make me old. We purchased GCF Silver Rose 618D as a bred heifer in 2017 and she has never let us down. Her Fireball heifer that was born this year will likely remain in herd, adding to our lengthening list of Silver Rose females, all stemming from this incredible cow. Not only does she perform in the pasture, she’s an absolute sweetheart. Thank you, GCF Shorthorns, for breeding this incredible cow. We never dreamed she’d become such a foundation for our herd.

When Derek bought this bull from us I knew he was good. Since then he’s only gotten better. Looking forward to seeing what the JSF crew does with him in OKC.

A secret…No. More. Jeff Aegerter loved him Durham Nation Sale wknd. Last week, Josh Berg called him the best balanced Shorthorn bull he’d seen in quite some time and told us we had to take him to OKC. Lucky for the Shorthorn populous, that was already on the itinerary, as is Herd Sire alley in Denver. World, meet GCF JW 101J.

This past weekend GCF Shorthorns was honored with one of the most prestigious awards from the breed at the American Shorthorn Association annual meeting and awards banquet. 2022 Builder of The Breed- Greg Crawford!
