VFC Alternative Break

At the end of February and the beginning of March we welcomed 224 volunteers from 7 schools! They served at community host sites in 5 different states!

Although the alternative breaks scheduled for the last two weeks of March were canceled, we are so proud of the students, schools, and communities that are doing their part to slow the spread of Covid-19.

We are thinking about everyone impacted during this crisis, and are so grateful for our amazing volunteers and community partners. We can’t wait for alternative breaks 2021!

Ecstatic to announce that this spring alternative break season we will be welcoming 333 volunteers from 10 schools across the county! Our volunteers will be dedicating their time and learning through service in 20 rural communities in 6 different states! (VA, NC, SC, WV, FL & AL) We can’t wait to meet you all and welcome you to the VFC family!

Hello facebook! It has been a while since our last update, but VFC has been up to some amazing things in 2019!

So far, we have welcomed 363 volunteers from 15 schools! Their work has impacted over 4,000 individuals in 26 different communities. We couldn't be more proud and impressed!

November Updates from VFC Alternative Break

Students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute were recognized for their volunteer efforts in the Roanoke community by Roanoke City Council. They spent their fall break volunteering at Lick Run Farm, mulching, planting, and weeding. They also volunteered at the rescue mission during their visit, they stuffed holiday cards and served dinner to the community.
