To enhance safety and create a more enjoyable experience for all guests, City of Roanoke Parks and Recreation will be implementing a Clear Bag Policy at Fallon Park Pool and Washington Park Pool beginning Monday, June 22, 2026.
To kick off the clear bag policy, we are giving away the first 300 clear bags for free at each pool location!
Once the initial supply has been distributed, clear bags will be available for purchase on-site ($5). Patrons are encouraged to bring their own clear bags to expedite entry into the facility. We appreciate your cooperation as we continue working to provide a safe, welcoming, and family-friendly environment for all pool visitors.

This is what community looks like!
Since the beginning of this project years ago, there have been many voices involved. From community meetings and engagement with youth to the early design presentations and feedback opportunities. Being able to gather today and see the completion of the Eureka Recreation Center redevelopment was incredibly powerful. Thank you to everyone who was involved in this process from the start, and we look forward to fully opening on Monday morning!
Regular hours will be Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Sundays from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. If you weren't able to tour the facility today, we hope to see you in the coming weeks!
Be sure to explore the new mural "A Tapestry of Shared Allegory" by artist S. Ross Browne in the lounge and community room. Additional exterior art pieces will be coming soon, so look for more info on that shortly!
*Eureka Recreation Center will be closed on Friday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. However, the center will be back open on Saturday, June 20 during the Juneteenth Family Reunion event.
