Our young guests enjoyed a fun-filled time with stories, snacks, games, and table-manner practice… plus a special surprise T-Rex visit! From silly moments to sweet manners, it was a fantastic day of learning and fun at the library.

This Juneteenth, explore stories that honor history, celebrate culture, and inspire civic engagement with Libby, your free digital library app.
From June 22–July 8, Libby will feature a special Civic Season collection curated by Made By Us, highlighting titles that explore identity, community, and the American experience. It's the perfect opportunity to discover new perspectives and meaningful reads as we reflect on our nation's history between Juneteenth and Independence Day.

🎨 Our young Stone Age artists had a great time at Prehistoric Rock Painting! From carefully detailed petroglyph-inspired designs to speedy masterpieces, each child's unique creative style shined through!

🐍 What an incredible time with Larsen's Lizards!
Families packed our libraries for this popular Summer Reading Challenge event, where kids got up close with amazing reptiles, learned fascinating facts, and even had the chance to meet and interact with chameleons, bearded dragons, a giant tortoise, and even a boa constrictor! It was a fun, hands-on experience that inspired curiosity and a love of learning.
A big thank you to Scott and Kim Larsen for bringing the world of reptiles to Botetourt County Libraries. 💚

🎨 Creativity was on display at our June First Friday Art program!
Participants explored simple art techniques in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, creating some wonderful pieces, including one by a young artist who joined the group! 💙
