Not everyone who needs treatment needs to step away from their life entirely.

Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) is a structured level of care that allows people to receive clinical treatment while continuing to live at home, work, and maintain family responsibilities.

At Tandem, IOP typically includes:
- Group therapy sessions multiple times per week
- Individual counseling
- Medication management when appropriate
- Peer support and recovery planning
- Connection to community resources

IOP is often the right fit for people stepping down from a higher level of care, or for those whose needs go beyond standard outpatient therapy.

Not every crisis requires hospitalization. Not every crisis can be managed at home.

A residential Crisis Stabilization Unit is designed for adults who need more support than outpatient care can provide, but who don't require the full structure of inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.

Referrals to Tandem's CSU will come through hospitals, emergency departments, licensed clinicians, and other behavioral health providers. Once referred, each individual receives a physical exam, a biopsychosocial assessment, and a treatment plan tailored to their needs.

Length of stay is individualized. The goal is stabilization and connection to the right next level of care.

Tandem's residential CSU launches this summer in Bedford County, Virginia. Accepting referrals statewide.
