Chuck Watson II runs 7.792 at 177 mph to qualify 5th for Holley EFI Factory Super Cars at the NMRA NMCA Super Bowl in St. Louis. We have one more day of qualifying then we race for the coveted Nitto rings.

Under the tutelage of Kimmie Mapes, Gardner Stone’s Ford Mustang Cobra Jet benefitted from a lot of off-season upgrades. Not only did it undergo a visual transformation from 2016 to 2018 Mustang styling, but it received a lot of chassis work and new power-assisted brakes from Lamb. The latter helps ensure he doesn’t push through the beams, while the former allows his car to put down the power. Stone’s CJ definitely did that in the second and third rounds of qualifying in Holley EFI Factory Super Cars, where it ran matching 7.60-second elapsed times. He says this is the best car he has ever had, but is mindful that it rides on the razor’s edge of 9-inch tires, so traction and weather conditions are always a concern.

Race ready Bristol ECF final Champion 2007 Half Scale Jr dragster. Bought new & raced by well known NMRA Renegade Racer Valerie Clements, sold to Isaac McDaniel in 2015 who went on to win the 2018 Eastern Conference Finals 16-17 year old Champion. Extremely consistent Whaley 7.90 3 1/4 engine paired with ChooChoo polar clutch setup. Engine has always freshened up by Roy Whaley. Less than half a season worth of runs since last freshen up. Comes with everything you need To go racing competitively. Micron 3, adjustable pedals, spare wheels & tires, clutch parts, lightweight starter, warm up stand, work stands, 19 inch cage, tow hitch, wheel dollies, tire wraps, accu weather station, & many spare parts to go with it.

My fourth, & last time racing @ Bristol Dragway for the Eastern Conference Finals was a challenge. The week started out rough, our golf cart was messed up, the dragsters starter battery was shot, the trailers bathroom water wasn’t working, & my JR was acting up first time trial. We fixed all of the bugs & gave it all we got! We made it past first round & broke out in the second round by the skin on our teeth. Crew chief Matthew Bell was feeling a little too confident with the dial. After all that’s racing! We had a wonderful time with all of my racing family, & can’t wait to see what the future may hold. I’d like to give a huge shout out to Stephen Skelton! He made it all the way to the finals in his age group and had amazing lights all day!!
