It’s easy to point out what’s wrong with everybody else while giving ourselves a pass. We want mercy for our mistakes and judgment for theirs.

Don’t let unforgiveness take root in your heart. Let it go. Trust God to handle what only He can. Every one of us has fallen short, and every one of us needs grace.

Sometimes the struggle isn’t what happened to you. It’s where you chose to go.

The prodigal son didn’t end up in the pig pen overnight. One decision led to another until he found himself in a place he was never meant to be. When God closes a door, it may not be rejection. It may be redirection.

Be careful leaving the place God told you to stay. Outside of His covering, what looks like freedom can quickly become frustration. Not every closed door is a “no.” Sometimes it’s God lovingly saying, “Wrong direction.”

Before you take the next step, make sure you’re not walking away from the very thing that’s protecting you.

Sometimes love looks like helping. Sometimes love looks like stepping back. The prodigal son came to himself when no one was giving him anything. Growth often begins when excuses end and responsibility begins. As parents, we want to protect our children from pain, but some lessons can only be learned through experience. You can’t bubble wrap someone from life forever. The goal isn’t to carry them through every struggle. It’s to equip them to stand when life gets hard. Real love prepares people for life, not just protects them from it.
