We had so much fun yesterday at our first Kids Crafting Club! 🎨👧🏼🎉😄👫 at the Riverview Recreation Center. We decided to lower the cost and the age range for most classes. Tomorrow is beaded animal charms! Feel free to show up at noon and sign up at the recreation department front desk at noon!

Our first crafting club class is here!

👧 Ages: 7-13 years old
💰 $15 per child

Mushrooms, bugs, butterflies, and flowers! Come and explore the outdoors with friends while we find a few flowers, bugs, hopefully a butterfly or dragonfly, and of course the beautiful sunshine! We will sketch a few quick ideas outdoors, then paint what we saw! If the weather is nice, we can even paint outside!

Please pack a snack and water bottle. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy!

Calling all young artists! Come explore your creativity at our fun and engaging Riverview Kids Crafting Club! 🖍🖌🎨

Classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday, and we'll dive into exciting new projects using paint, clay, collage, and more! Perfect for kids who love to draw, imagine, and get a little messy!

Classes will be taught by local artist & Elementary Art Teacher, Elizabeth Burke. Liz has been a working artist and involved with the Downriver local arts and markets community for many years. As a graduate of the College for Creative Studies in 2008, Liz has been an illustrator, painter, and graphic designer for many years. She recently achieved her teaching certificate and is now enjoying her teaching career as an art teacher. She is excited to spend time with the little artists in Riverview and spend the summer creating all sorts of wonderful and weird art!

School is ending this coming week and I'll be painting throughout the summer. This first year of teaching has been wild but I definitely am happy to come back to my love of big paintings. If you have any ideas for summer windows or murals that you'd like to have done or collaborate on- please let me know! I have a few quotes Ill be doing in Southgate and Taylor tomorrow. Get at me! Can't wait to get out my paintbrushes!!! Lets make that bathroom weird- paint spongebob goofypants in your kitchen- announce the summmer specials at your small business!! I will have an open schedule!

2024 was amazing! While I didn’t get to do as much art of my own, I was able to start teaching in the classroom. As a Technology Teacher, we went through a ton of design programs and my elementary students did some amazing work. I am so excited to start coding with them when we get back into the classroom. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and my family on this journey! Hope you all had a great 2024 and are looking forward to a great 2025 as well!

Forgot to post these pics! But here was the one big window I did get done this winter. Things have had to be pushed to the back burner while I get used to this whole "teacher" life. I've had a chance to do just a few things but not many. Hopefully there will be more painting and art in the future!
