DAY 142

Walk in the Spirit - 2 of 7
Reading: Acts 25:1-28:31
Memorizing: Rom 8:14-15

CORRESPONDING ACTIONS!

Let's start today’s reading by declaring again what we said yesterday. If needed, post it on your wall where you can read through it everyday.

Because I walk in the Spirit, I have God’s wisdom, God’s strength, God’s ability. I am permitting Him to govern my intellect, letting Him think through me, use my lips and vocal cords. I dare to think His thoughts after Him, how he sees me and how He loves me. I dare to believe that it is God who is at work within me and that He will work His own good pleasure. I dare to say in the presence of my enemies: failure, weakness, want, lack of opportunity, lack of knowledge, lack of friends, and a thousand others, “God is my ability.” God has made me greater than my enemies. God has made me put my heel on the neck of weakness, of fear, of inability, and I stand and declare that whosoever believes in Him shall not be put to shame. I cannot be put to shame. My weaknesses are unrooted. The strength of God is mine. The ability of God has taken me captive and I revel in this captivity. I walk in the Spirit and will not be controlled by my flesh.

Our memory verse today Rom 8:13-14 says, "For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”

There is a sure sign that you are a son or daughter of God, when the Holy Spirit leads you, guides you, controls you and when you become more and more responsive to His promptings and voice in your life. There are things in our lives which we can only control when we do it through the power of the Holy Spirit. It might be a bad habit, an ungodly belief or an addiction, but through the power of the Holy Spirit we should habitually put to death the things that try to stand between us and the promises of our Father.

In James 2:14 one translation says, "What good is it my brethren, if a man professes to have faith, and yet his actions do not correspond?" In verse 18 it says, "You notice that his faith was corresponding with his actions, and that through his actions his faith was perfected.”

Walking in the Holy Spirit has everything to do with acting on what you believe and trusting your Heavenly Father for His divine favor in your life. We may find people who’ve sat in church for 40 years, and yet are still immature in the application of the Word or the actions that should correspond with their faith, but on the other hand, we may find people who are newly saved who are more mature, because they immediately act on what they believe and start to apply the truth of the Word.

Faith and trust in God develop over time, but you have to be intentional about it, because your natural self is normally not interested in developing your spirit man. To grow your faith muscles you have to exercise it daily. Going to a gym for 30 minutes of exercise daily will be much more effective than doing 3 hours every Saturday. Feeding on God's Word daily will grow your faith muscles much quicker than only receiving the Word every Sunday.

When David was standing before King Saul, he reminded him that he killed the lion and the bear, and therefore, he would kill the giant, Goliath (1 Sam. 17:36). He did not start with Goliath; he was trained up to trust God wholeheartedly before he faced his giant. Feeding on the Word of God consistently will have a lasting effect over time, and will create a hunger in your spirit for more as well as a habit to show corresponding actions as you walk in faith.

My personal opinion is that we know too much and apply too little, which renders us ineffective and immature in the things of God. If you apply faith to a situation and the impossible happens, you will have more faith stamina next time you face the same situation. It is important to train continually to grow in maturity. If you do not apply what you know, you will ultimately lose it in the same way that the muscles of the body become weak if they are not exercised.

The Word of God makes you grow up—not just reading it, but doing it too. We should learn to apply our faith in God and use our spiritual muscles, even if we are at a place where we feel it is not necessary.

Father, I decide today to intentionally feed on Your Word, and come into Your presence on a daily basis. I declare that You are the source of everything I need, and I choose to abide in Jesus as He is the vine and I am the branch. Holy Spirit, through Your power that works in me, I put to death anything that tries to control me or tries to derail me from Your perfect plan for my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

DAY 122

Transformation - 3 of 7
Reading: Acts 13:1–14:28
Memorizing: Phil 4:8

IDENTITY IN CHRIST

The more we see of Jesus in His Word, and through the Holy Spirit, the better we can defend His name and more efficiently destroy the works of the devil wherever we see them. It is in beholding the glory of Jesus that we can display His wonderful attributes like love, faith, kindness, gentleness, patience, self-control, etc. The fruit of the Spirit, according to Gal 5:22-23, became ours when we became born again. When I know that I have the fruit in the same measure Jesus had it while He walked on this earth, I need to do the responsible thing, and be disciplined in how I follow Him, and how I dispense His attributes to those around me.

The Kingdom is about influence, and we need to be seed minded people by being intentional to touch people around us. We do not have to become legalistic about the way we follow Jesus, we should just explore the relationship we are in, with this amazing God and Father, with diligence and excitement.

Just to think that I can hear the voice of God is an incredible thought, and energizes me to read the Word and to spend time in His presence. 1 Tim 4:15 says, “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.”

There has to be progress in our walk in faith. Transformation brings progress, as we shake off the old thoughts and ways of doing things, and adapt to the newness of life which is in the likeness of Christ.

Col 3:2 says, “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” We can do this because we are born from above, from the Father's heart.

We are either earthly bound or heavenly minded. We are part of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ and are only passing by. The Word says we are aliens in this world, and should stand out as citizens of another country, Kingdom country, wherever we are.

When we came to the US and I talked to someone they would always ask, “Where are you from?” This was because of my South African accent. We have a Heavenly language and accent which is unique. It is called "agape love" or unconditional and unmerited love. When people hear us speak that language, it should prompt them to ask, where are you from?

Phil 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

If an eagle’s egg is hatched by a chicken, the eagle will always feel uncomfortable. He is not designed to be a chicken with a chicken’s attributes; he is designed to do something very different. His wings are designed to fly and his beak to tear apart his prey. If this little “chicken” can be helped to find his true purpose and identity, he can become who he really is, he will be able to reach his destiny.

It is the same with us. It is about discovering your true Identity In Christ. It is about transforming your mind through the Word, to embrace your Identity, and to live it out every day. We are created to fly like eagles, and only in beholding Jesus and who He is, and finding your identity in Him, will you truly understand who you are and be inspired to rise up to become who God intended you to be.

Note: God is a God of relationship and wants to be in close fellowship with you. His Word should be the primary source of study, in the life of every believer. (Sometimes people know more about what a preacher said and who said it, than what God is saying). Our Father desires to be in close fellowship with you through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, hear what He has to say, and declare His Word for yourself, over your life and circumstances continuously.

Holy Spirit, help me to have sensitive ears to hear Your voice. Strengthen my heart to obey Your promptings, and to follow after the example Jesus set for me in His Word. Heavenly Father, speak to my heart, and guide me in the way I should go. I trust you with all my heart, and refuse to rely on my own understanding. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

DAY 119

Faith - 7 of 7
Reading: Rom 10:1-21
Memorizing: 2 Cor 4:18; Heb 11:6

FAITH IS A CONTINUOUS WALK

The biggest enemies of faith are our senses and the tendency of our minds to ignore the things that are impossible, instead of believing that all things are possible in Christ. What we see with our eyes and hear with our ears can have a negative effect on our walk in faith; we should deliberately choose to believe what God says in His Word.

2 Cor 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight”.
2 Cor 4:18 says, “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal”.

These two scriptures make it clear that we should look at things differently through our faith eyes. Faith looks beyond the natural into the unseen.

So What Does Faith Look Like?
Faith sees the impossible and unthinkable.
Faith stands only on one thing—the Word of God.
Faith is a continuous walk and not something we do occasionally.
Faith means I receive now, although I might have to give it time to manifest in the natural.
If faith receives now, praise should follow immediately.
I am convinced that our Father in heaven thoroughly enjoys it when we choose to believe Him for the impossible, because He has already provided the answers. Think of it this way: It will be of no satisfaction and joy to me if I give a gift to someone and they never open it. A gift is meant to be accepted, opened and enjoyed. My faith in God’s promises and the finished work of Jesus on the cross is the way to open the gift of grace, and allow it to work miracles in my life.

Hebrews 11 has been described as the Hall of Fame of people who walked in faith. As believers who walk in faith you might want to add your name to these giants of faith.

Declare this with me today and say it loud so that you can hear yourself.

According to Romans 4:18–21, I will, contrary to hope, in hope believe that everything in my life that seems impossible, is possible, I will not be weak in faith and I will not consider my own inabilities or strength. I will not waver at the promises of God through unbelief and will not doubtingly question the authority of the Word of God, but I will strengthen myself in faith, giving glory to God. I will stay fully convinced that what God has promised He is also able and willing to perform in my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I choose today to act on what Your Word says. I choose to believe You in spite of what my circumstances, friends, family, or bank account says. I decide today to believe Your Word as the truth in spite of the facts I might see with my eyes or hear with my ears. I submit my emotions and feelings to You and decide to stand on Your Word every day. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

DAY 118

Faith - 6 of 7
Reading: Rom 4:1-25
Memorizing: Gen 15:1; Rom 4:19-20

ARE YOU FULLY PURSUADED?

Probably one of my most favorite scripture, when my faith is challenged, is what we read in Rom 4:18-21 Amp. This is about Abraham, the father of faith and it says, “[For Abraham, human reason for] hope being gone, hoped in faith that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been promised, So [numberless] shall your descendants be. He did not weaken in faith when he considered the [utter] impotence of his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or [when he considered] the barrenness of Sarah's [deadened] womb. No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God, Fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His word and to do what He had promised. That is why his faith was credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God). But [the words], It was credited to him, were written not for his sake alone, But [they were written] for our sakes too. [Righteousness, standing acceptable to God] will be granted and credited to us also who believe in (trust in, adhere to, and rely on) God, Who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,”
‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
In Gen 15:5 we read how God gave Abraham a promise that his descendents would be like the stars in heaven. This previous scripture says: human reason for any hope to see that happen was gone. It was impossible for Abraham and Sarah to have children at that age. (Sarah was already post-menopause.) But this scripture says Abraham hoped against a hope that was set on human reasoning, and he believed that God was able and willing to do what He said.

The scripture says, no unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God. The devil wants you to doubtingly question God’s promises for your life, for your marriage, your children and your future. He wants you to walk with hesitation instead of with boldness. The enemy wants you to distrust your Father who has entered a blood covenant with you. Who says in His Word, He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Abraham did not focus on the reasons or the excuses why this cannot happen. Actually he walked with intention, grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God. That’s right. When you praise Him in the storm you will grow strong in faith and be empowered to stay the course and to never quit. If you, instead of praising God, are always looking for reasons and answers and focusing on the problem, it will change your faith into fear and you will miss the opportunity to receive the impossible.

While Abraham was giving glory to God, he was fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His Word, and to do what He had promised. One translation says he was fully persuaded.

How assured and satisfied are you that God is able to perform what He had promised you? One way the enemy tricks us is to make us question if God has promised it. My friend, shake it off and set your heart on Jesus while you ask the Holy Spirit to confirm and re-enforce God’s promises for your marriage, your career, your family, etc.

Take anything you might face right now and compare that with what Abraham had to hope for. Maybe all human reasoning for hope in your situation is gone, but like Abraham, you can put your hope in a mighty God who can do the impossible things.

Faith is not meant for the possible, it is meant for the impossible. If we are only applying our faith to what we can do ourselves, we are living lives lacking the abundance of the life God has planned for us. We should always remind ourselves of God’s promises for our lives, and live our lives fully persuaded that God our Father will do what He said.

Holy Spirit, confirm with me the promises God has for my life as I set my heart on You today. I choose to believe, Father, that You are able and willing to perform what You have promised me. By faith I receive it and choose to strengthen my faith and give glory and praise to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

DAY 117

Faith - 5 of 7
Reading: 1 Thess 5:1-11
Memorizing: Prov 18:21

SPEAK LIFE!

Faith in God’s Word is established by reason of use. Think of it as a baby that has to grow his muscles. The muscles are there from the beginning, but need to develop. You have the potential of walking in the same faith Jesus walked in, but you need to develop your faith muscles. You don’t need to get more faith, you have to develop your faith. Growing in knowing your Father’s heart is the best way to do it. You do that by staying in the Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal your Father’s love to you.

Faith consists of BELIEVING, SPEAKING and ACTING. It is like three legs of a chair. Without one of them, the chair is not doing what it is supposed to do.

Mark 11:23-24 says, “For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea’, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

Here we see BELIEF, SAY and ACT in one scripture. We see the word “says” three times in these two verses. You have to speak to your mountain. Sometimes you become the mountain, which is in the way of your miracles. Here is a question for you. What do you say when you speak to yourself? Are you willing to look at yourself the way Jesus is, and are you willing to look at other people the same way Jesus is. The devil wants us to look and talk about our problems, but as a child of God standing in His authority, we talk about Jesus, that our Redeemer lives, that nothing is impossible for Him. Hallelujah!!

Speaking aloud, with authority to your “mountain”, is necessary to make it disappear. Your mountain can be anything that stands between you and the promises of God for your life, and anything that brings fear or threatens your life. It can be a challenge in your marriage, at your workplace or in your finances, etc. The Bible says that you will receive whatever you proclaim/ask for. This does not mean that we can name and claim everything we can think of, but it does mean that we can claim everything Jesus already paid for on the cross, such as healing, provision, strength, etc.

Prov 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit”. We should be very careful with our words. Our words are creative and what we say will have an effect on our lives, and the lives of others, whether good or bad. As believers, we should say what God says in His Word, and if we cannot say that, we should rather say nothing at all. Therefore, use your words wisely, because your words are like seed. Seed is never neutral and will produce a harvest. We should purpose to sow good seed. You primarily sow with your words, actions, and attitude.

Test: Put your faith to the test this week, and fast from speaking any negative words. Correct every negative word you might say with a scripture verse, which should line up with what God is saying. (Make sure you write everything down as a record)

Heavenly Father, I choose to look at myself and my circumstances the way You do. Help me Holy Spirit to discipline myself to see myself the way You see me. I say to my mountain, move in Jesus’ name. I say to the storms in my life, be quiet in Jesus’ name. I take my eyes off my problems and fix them on Jesus. I declare today that my Redeemer lives and all is well. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

12/21/2024

DAY 116

Faith - 4 of 7
Reading: Matt 14:22-36
Memorizing: Mark 11:23-24

FAITH & AUTHORITY

Matt 8:23-26 says, “Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

This is faith in action. How many times in your life were you saying those words, maybe in a different way, but like the disciples were saying, “Lord, save me! I am perishing!”. I know I did a few times and then our precious Jesus came to my aid, lifted me out of my problem, and set my feet on solid ground again.

IT ONLY HAPPENED BECAUSE I WAS LOOKING AT THE WAVES AND THE STORM AND TOOK MY EYES OF JESUS.

Jesus challenged His disciples to stand in the authority He had given them. We are to stand in the same authority because of who we are in Christ Jesus. Any storm that might threaten our lives—whether it relates to our finances, relationships, families, business or in our personal lives as we serve God—should be addressed with this kind of authority. When Jesus spoke to the storm it became quiet, but His response to His disciples was, “Why are you so fearful, O you of little faith.” Jesus was actually saying to them that through faith and His delegated authority they were supposed to still the storm themselves.

In the same way, He has given us the authority to speak to the things in life that threaten us, and to believe Him for a favorable outcome. The enemy wants to fill you with fear, but faith is the opposite and the answer.

KEEP YOU EYES ON JESUS!!

The authority and power that God has delegated to us as His children, is to address the storms and defeat the giants in our lives. We have to have a faith that lasts, as we face the challenges in life. When Jesus said to the disciples that they had little faith, it actually means that their faith did not last. It was strong in the beginning, but then they forgot that their Savior was sleeping in the boat, and everything was actually under control.

Their response was the same as we respond sometimes, when we go through a difficult time. We want God to interfere, to show up in His power and bring relief, but He has delegated that authority to us. Jesus is sleeping in your boat. He wants you to stand in the authority of His name and speak to the mountain to remove itself (Mark 11:23-24). It has everything to do with our Identity in Christ. If you know who you are, you will not let a storm push you around, and if you build your life on Jesus, the rock, you know for certain that your house will stand (Matt 7:24-25).

We see the same in our reading for today in Matt 14:28-31, “And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
When Jesus said to Peter “come”, it literally means that Jesus said to Him, Peter, I authorize you to walk on top of your problem like I am walking on it. Whatever you might face right now, Jesus is walking on top of that problem and He authorizes you to do the same.

You have His name in your mouth, and His word in your heart, to speak His life and promises into the situation you face right now. We are not supposed to be boat sitters. In the above scripture, we only remember Peter, we do not even know the names of those who sat in the boat.

Holy Spirit, you are my Strengthener, and I give You full permission to touch me in every way, that I might walk on the water with Jesus today. I say to my mountains move, and because of Your authority and power on the inside of me, I walk as a giant slayer and a water walker, because I walk by faith and not by sight. This day is filled with Your blessings and Favor and I receive it all in Jesus’ name. Amen.

12/20/2024

DAY 115

Faith - 3 of 7
Reading: Matt 6:1-34
Memorizing: Matt 6:33-34

FAITH DOES NOT WORRY

I want to mention again, that if we understand how much the Father loves us, we never have to ask Him to increase our faith, because we will never worry about tomorrow, we will always believe that our loving heavenly Father has already made provision for us, in everything we might need. God our Father is a SUPPLY God, not a DEMAND God. Phil 4:19 Amp says, “And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
We are valuable to Him, and as a good Father, He does not want us to worry. Matt 6:24-35 says “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Therefore do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

This scripture asks a question we should ask ourselves all the time as we walk in faith. Are you not more valuable than the birds of the air and the lilies in the field? Is your Father in heaven not madly in love with you, and does He not know exactly what you need today? A faith life is a “Let go and Let God” life. It is taking my hands off the things I’m trusting God for, so that He can put His hands on those things. Did not Jesus already pay for everything on the cross?

If you answer “Yes” to the above questions, then “Let go”. Rest in God, trust Him and He will take care of you.

For this reason my life should be a walk of praise and thanksgiving, because I delight myself in what is already mine. My children never doubted my ability to provide for them as their earthly father, because they never had to question my love for them.

Many people struggle to truly comprehend the Father’s love for them, because of things that might have happened to them during their childhood. A poor example, of an earthly father, distorts our view of our heavenly Father. Restoration and healing in this area are crucial to enable us to become giants in faith.

But how do we know, that we understand our Father’s love for us? Probably the most important piece of evidence would be how we respond toward our heavenly Father when we fail, make a mistake, or even fall into sin. If we let guilt and condemnation consume us in that situation or isolate ourselves from God, the chances are that we do not know how much the Father loves us. We are supposed to run toward our Father, even when we’ve made a mistake, because we believe that His love for us is unconditional and that we are forgiven.

Heavenly Father, I believe today what Your Word says about me, that You value me and want to take care of me. I surrender my worries, concerns and anxieties and choose to wholeheartedly trust You. I am letting go. You can take over and bring complete salvation in every area of my life. I am entering Your rest now and put my faith in what Your Word says. In Jesus’ name. Amen

12/19/2024

DAY 114

Faith - 2 of 7
Reading: Heb 11:20-40
Memorizing: Gal 5:6

FAITH WORKS THROUGH LOVE

Gal 5:6 Amp says, “For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.”
‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
We cannot grow our faith muscles, if we do not first grow in our understanding of how much our Heavenly Father loves us. Looking for more faith, without seeking to grow in knowing the Father’s love for us is senseless. This scripture says it is knowing God’s love for you which energizes faith, expresses faith and makes faith work in our lives.

A man of faith, E.W Kenyon once said, if you have a deep understanding of your Fathers love for you, you do not have to ask Him to increase your faith, because you will believe Him. My children have faith that I will take care of them, not because we signed a contract or I made some promises, but because they know that I love them unconditionally.

When faith increases, as we better understand our Father’s love for us, we can demonstrate it boldly by letting the Father’s love work through us. The universal language of the Kingdom of Jesus is love. His command was love God and love your neighbor, and in John 13:34-35 Jesus says, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

The proof that we are His disciples is through knowing and showing the Father’s love to people. Without knowing this love and becoming a dispenser of this love, we are actually bankrupt.
‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
1 Cor 13:2 Amp says, “IF I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God's love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God's love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody).”
‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
We can do the most amazing things and build the biggest churches, but if we do not love, we are just useless nobodies. This is a strong word, but it confirms that love, God’s love, is the key to our faith walk.

When we understand our Father’s love, faith can receive the things Jesus paid for on the cross.

Think of it this way:
Jesus carried our sicknesses (Isa. 53:4–5).
Jesus carried our weaknesses (Isa. 53:4–5).
Jesus paid in full for our sins (Eph. 1:7).
Jesus restored our provision as He restored our inheritance (Eph. 1:11).
In Him all the promises of the Word are ours (2 Cor. 1:20).
We are now blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places (Eph. 1:3).
We are standing in His authority to obtain victory in every area of our lives (Luke 10:19).

With this in mind, it means that there is nothing else He has to do for us. We just have to receive all He has done on the cross. Faith is the hand of our hearts which we stretch out to take hold of these things. It means that God my Father does not need to heal me today, because healing became mine two thousand years ago when Jesus died on the cross; I can just declare that I am healed. He does not need to provide for me today, because I am already provided for. He does not need to bless me today, because He already blessed me, when Jesus was crucified on my behalf. It is the receiving part that is activated, when we grow in knowing our Father’s love for us.

Jesus never asked the Father to heal someone in the Bible. He commanded that person to be healed because He walked in love and authority. This is why the Apostle Paul said that he presses on to lay hold of the things for which Jesus laid hold of him.

Phi 3:12 says, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me”.

Our focus should be to let the Holy Spirit reveal more of the Father’s love to us, because then I will trust Him with all my heart and will believe without any doubt or unbelief, in His ability and willingness to do what He has promised me.

Every time you open your Bible, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to your heart the unconditional love your Heavenly Father has for you.

Thank You Abba Father, for Your love for me, which is unconditional, unmerited, and undeserved. I open my heart today and ask You Holy Spirit to reveal the deep secrets of the Fathers’ love to me, so that I will be able to receive all that heaven has in store for me. I am reaching out with the hand of my heart, my faith, because I believe that my Father is able and willing to do what He has promised me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
