Well, I'm now at the age when my friend's kids are getting married! And I am lucky that they asked me to participate. My friend, the mother of the bride, made the absolutely spectacular cake stand.

So fun to actually get back into making some cakes. This was a sweet opportunity to make a 50th anniversary cake for my stage dad. In homage of their cake 50 years ago.

After many months of difficult decision making, I have decided to not return to teaching next school year. Which means, I am more available for cakes, cupcakes, and other delicious baked goods.

Just to make an already busy week more... Exciting? Wedding cake for a dear friend who is the daughter of a dear friend. Yummy carrot cake. Painting job done by yet another dear friend (when you don't have the skills, you find people that do!)

It's been a really long time. The day I baked was very stressful. But the art of creating and decorating was very fulfilling. Not to mention the positive reception for this kidney-aversary cake... First anniversary of a kidney replacement... Worth the stress.

Sweet little wedding cake for a family of dear friends that are moving out of the country soon. I will miss them and I'm grateful that they let me be a small part of this special day.

Quick unicorn cake for the cutest newly turned 4 year old. It was all sort of funfetty sprinkles on the inside... And apparently she added even more! Ha ha. Kids.

This week's cake... Panda style. With chocolate caramel insides.

So, I offer every couple that I make a wedding cake for, a free 6 in cake on their first anniversary. Because eating year old frozen cake makes my baker heart sad. Plus it frees up more of the cake to be served at the wedding! Anyhow, they don't look special, but they taste amazing! Happy first anniversary friends.

Interesting that back to school also meant back to caking. Ah life. Here's a cute birthday cake from today.
