The little printer that could. Hundreds of prints, countless rolls of filament and over 4000 hours of printing. But it's starting to show it's age with the belts going bad.
Thanks little guy.

Started getting into printing FDM minis on my Bambu P1S. It'll never be as good looking as resin, but I can get it really close for less hassle. Its also caused me to re-learn how to do model painting; something I used to do as a kid.
Both skeletons were painted using 2 different techniques I'm working on.

After 4000 hours, my main printer started doing something called Z banding. This is where you get variations in the layers. It can come from a number of issues. But in my case, it's from worn out belts.
Time to put this printer out to pasture and hit up MicroCenter for a new one.

Good prints start with dry filament. Dry filament needs dry desiccant beads. To get dry beads means popping them in the over at 300°F for 1 hr. I use color changing orange beads that turn brown when it's time to dry them out and go back to orange when dry.
35% humidity is no bueno. 10% is muy bueno.
