One of the best people and talented artists I had met and known going through college at CSULB in the early 90s was Rudy Gardea. He's one of few that not only carried on with traditional illustration work, but excelled at it. Like myself, he had also pursued digital art (illustration/design) after graduating and went on to teach to share his passion. VoyageLA recently published his story and thought I'd share:

Some things are quite special milestones in a designer’s career and this was a big one – I had the honor of working with Don Emde this year to put together his new book UNLIMITED - The Fred Fox Story, documenting the life and accomplishments of Fred Fox. It’s hardbound, 324 pages and contains over 700 images. For all those into motorcycling or powersports in general, Fred Fox was the founder (in 1967) of Parts Unlimited, the industry’s backbone for distribution of all things motorcycle related.
