With its compact footprint, 360° rotating boom, and self-propelled travel capability, the carry deck crane was the only practical lifting solution in environments where full-size cranes couldn't operate effectively. It was a machine built for the spaces that other cranes couldn't reach.
The carry deck crane was purpose-built for the environments where other cranes couldn't go, and that's still what makes it indispensable today. Train to operate it safely with AP Crane Training at apcranetraining.com or call (888) 501-1355!

Under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1427, operators must be able to read and understand all warnings, load charts, and operating instructions on the crane they operate. This means if the documentation is in English and the operator cannot read English, the employer is responsible for providing translated materials and verifying comprehension. Simply handing someone a load chart they cannot read does not satisfy this requirement.
Our AP Crane Training program addresses every compliance requirement including this one. Visit apcranetraining.com or call (888) 501-1355.

Before bridge cranes became standard in manufacturing facilities in the late 1800s, moving heavy machinery, castings, and assemblies within a factory required enormous manual labor that was slow, dangerous, and limited in capacity.
The electric overhead bridge crane, introduced in the 1880s and 1890s, transformed factory production by making heavy material handling fast, reliable, and safe. Steel mills, shipyards, and locomotive factories that adopted them saw productivity multiply almost overnight, directly accelerating the pace of industrialization across America and Europe.
Today, it remains the backbone of heavy manufacturing worldwide, and properly trained operators are the key to keeping it running safely. Visit apcranetraining.com or call (888) 501-1355!

Underground utility strikes are one of the leading causes of serious injuries and fatalities in utility construction. Calling 811 before any digging operation identifies the location of underground gas, electric, water, and communication lines. It's a legal requirement in every U.S. state, and skipping this step to save time has ended careers and lives.
Our Digger Derrick Training makes underground utility awareness a core part of every operator's skill set, because it has to be. Visit apcranetraining.com or call (888) 501-1355.

This means it must be in or on the crane, not back at the office or on a password-protected phone that requires unlocking. The load chart is the operator's most critical reference tool, and OSHA treats its absence as a serious violation.
Our Carry Deck Crane training makes sure operators understand load charts inside and out, and know exactly why they must always be within reach. Enroll at apcranetraining.com or call (888) 501-1355!

Although the carry deck crane is designed to travel with loads, doing so with a suspended, rather than rested, load creates significant stability and control challenges.
A suspended load swings freely during travel, shifting the crane's center of gravity unpredictably. When traveling with any load, keep it as low as possible and move at the slowest safe speed.
The carry deck crane's ability to travel with loads is what makes it so valuable. But that capability has to be used correctly. Our Carry Deck Crane certification covers safe travel procedures and everything else operators need on the job. Visit apcranetraining.com or call (888) 501-1355.
