The Untold Stories of Latinos in the IE: A Platica with Gustavo Arellano — presented by Cultura sin Fronteras and UCRArts!
Join us for an engaging and timely conversation exploring the rich cultural, artistic, and historical contributions of Latino communities throughout the Inland Empire. In this special plática, acclaimed journalist and author Gustavo Arellano will lead a discussion examining the region’s unique stories, creative voices, and cultural impact. Together, he, Dr. Jaime Gonzalez, and moderator and journalist Minerva Canto, will explore issues of visibility, representation, community identity, and the many ways Latino artists, writers, educators, and cultural leaders continue to shape the Inland Empire. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate and learn from the diverse experiences and contributions that help define our region.

Books, writers, giveaways, and a chance to discover your next favorite read, all happening this Thursday!

Join us for Inlandia’s Indie Author Fair from 5:00–7:30 PM at the Riverside Main Library Community Room. Meet local authors and illustrators, browse and purchase books, and connect with fellow book lovers from across the Inland Empire. Plus, several participating authors have generously donated signed books and/or merch for our raffle giveaways, giving attendees even more opportunities to take home something special.

We’re thrilled to be partnering with such a talented group of writers and artists and can’t wait to celebrate authors within and outside of our community. Participants are tagged below. If you’re participating and don’t see your name, leave a comment and we’ll add you!

Happy Thursday everyone! As many of you have heard, we are putting together a new indie authors book fair for June! That’s right — our next Artswalk will be our beloved book fair. Don’t forget! Free event! Tonight, Inlandia is honored to be joining with Save our Chinatown Committee and others to celebrate Ching-In’s new book with a special reading. We will be at the Heritage House alongside all of these wonderful, historic individuals. Come out and celebrate with us this AAPI Heritage Month.

Tonight we welcome Nydia Armendia-Sánchez to Artswalk at the Riverside Main Library! Presented by our Cultura steering committee, Nydia will be doing a storytime of her book Frida Kahlo’s Flower Crown! We will also be having arts and crafts available for the whole family (you might even be able to draw your own portrait!) and from 7-7:30, we’ll be doing a few games of Loteria! Winners of the games will receive signed books or other goodies. We look forward to welcoming you all there anytime from 6-7:30 in the Community Room.
