Observed every year on June 12, the World Day Against Child Labor is a global call to end the exploitation of children in the workforce. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), millions of children worldwide are still engaged in labor that deprives them of education, health, and a safe childhood. Many work in hazardous conditions—handling dangerous machinery, chemicals, or enduring long hours for minimal pay.
This day unites governments, employers, workers’ organizations, civil society, and individuals to strengthen action against child labor. It also raises awareness about the root causes, such as poverty, lack of access to quality education, and weak labor protections.
Ending child labor is not just a moral duty—it is essential for building fair, sustainable societies. Education, social protection programs, and decent work opportunities for adults are key solutions. By supporting ethical businesses, advocating for stronger laws, and promoting community awareness, everyone can contribute to change.
The World Day Against Child Labor reminds us that every child has the right to learn, play, and grow in safety. Protecting these rights is a shared responsibility that shapes the future of our world.

“The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up.” ....Amelia Earhart
According to the back of the vintage press photo, Earhart congratulated Dietrich on her “courage and good sense” for wearing a trousered suit in the film, a bold fashion choice at the time. This moment was notable because both women were public figures in their own right ...Dietrich as a pioneering actress and Earhart as a celebrated aviation pioneer.
This photo was taken in 1933 on the set of The Song of Songs. It’s a rare visual link between two influential women of the era ...one in Hollywood, one in aviation ... and a symbol of their mutual respect.
Dietrich would later say of Earhart: " Amelia Earhart, that slim, spare figure of a woman, because she set her compass on Life and never changed her course; because she lived for a purpose; and because she died heroically, a falling star plunging into an uncharted ocean and, surely, saluting with a smile and a wave of the hand the sun or the moon as her plane plummeted her to an unknown destiny."
What an amazing piece of history!

On this day, June 4, 1919, the U.S. Congress passed the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote.
It wasn’t just a law — it was the culmination of decades of struggle, marches, arrests, and voices that refused to be silenced. For generations of women, June 4 was the day their dignity was written into the nation’s future.
Imagine the emotion of that moment: mothers who had fought for their daughters, daughters who had carried the torch for their mothers. It was proof that persistence, even when met with ridicule or violence, could bend history toward justice.
June 4 reminds us that equality is never given — it is won, carried forward by courage and hope.
