The Mendez v. Westminster case was the precursor to the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case. California school children should know about this case and it should be required teaching in our schools.

The bill is on Newsom’s desk…Let’s hope he signs it.

California legislators want public schools to teach Mendez v. Westminster After passing the bill, legislators asked Gov. Newsom to invite Sylvia Mendez to any bill signing events.

247 years ago, to the day, June 14, 1777, our American Flag was adopted as the official flag of the United States of America! I am proud to say that I approved the placement of our American Flag down the Magnolia Corridor. One of our beautiful flags is at the corner of Magnolia and Taft, locally here in Ward 5, shown below.
