My MAPLE BROWN BUTTER SWEET POTATOES need to make it onto your Thanksgiving table! The nutty brown butter, maple syrup and orange zest work together to make the perfect sweet potato side dish! Ingredients: -5 large (and long) sweet potatoes sliced ⅛ of an inch thick -6 tbsp unsalted butter -⅓ cup maple syrup -¾ tsp cinnamon -½ tsp ginger -¼ tsp nutmeg -1 tsp salt -⅓ cup dark brown sugar Finishing Touch: -1 cup crushed walnuts mixed with ¼ cup maple syrup - zest from 1 orange -Preheat oven to 375F -Cut butter into 4 pieces, Add butter to a large skillet. Melt over medium heat. Stir until the butter begins to brown and has a toasted nutty aroma then remove from heat, let cook for a minute more then add the maple syrup, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and ½ tsp salt. Mix to combine. -Add the sliced sweet potatoes to the pan and toss to coat. -Start to stack the potatoes and arrange them in a 11 inch cast iron skillet as shown. -Top with brown sugar and remaining salt. Bake for 50 minutes. -Garnish with orange zest and wet walnuts.
