I just had a beautiful drive into Riverside from Bermuda Dunes. I hope everyone had a blessed Easter filled with their family and is heading into their Monday recharged with their cup overflowing.

Last night, we had one last item to wrap up for our end-of-the-year payroll, something I was able to help contribute to in a small way. I was privileged to hang out into the evening to watch our fantastic team check, recheck, update, recheck, add bilingual pay to hundreds of checks, then recheck again. Then, finally, push our pay period 26 payroll out of our system, ready for RCIT to make the final push to our bank.

I am humbled to have learned so much this last year about our office so I can better gather the resources our team needs to do their job more efficiently, effectively, and collectively better with time. But I couldn’t do that if we didn’t have such an inviting and accepting team.

So, as I close out my first year as our Riverside County Auditor-Controller, I want to take time to thank my fantastic Team and ACO Family. Together with our payroll, property tax, general accounting, audit, and administrative divisions of the Auditor Controller’s office, we will collectively make our county stronger.

For the 25,128 strong of our entire Riverside County family, know that $54,204,952.49 is on the way, making its way through the banking system so we can all collectively have the brightest end-of-the-year holidays with our families and friends. It’s our privilege in the ACO office to be here to serve all of you.

Finally, to the taxpayers of Riverside County, we couldn’t do this without you, and we are all here to serve you.

I had a great opportunity, along with many of our County department heads, last night to speak to residents of the 1st District in Mead Valley at their Town Hall. It was nice to see so many community members and answer questions about all the activities happening at the Auditor-Controller’s office. It's so rewarding to be out promoting all the hard work of our team!

During National Payroll Week, I want to recognize and thank all the hard-working members of our incredible payroll division. The Payroll division of the Auditor-Controller's office is responsible for managing the County's $1.9 billion annual payroll. Our dedicated team of professionals distributes 22,000 checks every two weeks, ensuring every employee of Riverside County is paid on time. Keep up the great work, team!

Six week’s in and I’m already proud of staff’s integrity and hard work.

What a panoramic view, a sink and ‘thank you’ say about Riverside County’s new auditor Ben Benoit, Wildomar’s ex-mayor, is taking a different approach as he replaces longtime incumbent Paul Angulo.

I’m at a loss for words. I’ve seen so much pain for Officer Darnell Calhoun. Yet now, these brave men and women are snapping into action to start the process of bringing him to peace.

It's always too soon, this is way too soon.

Riverside County swears in three supervisors, new auditor-controller Supervisor Yxstian Gutierrez and Auditor-Controller Ben Benoit, who are new to county leadership, took their oaths Tuesday, Jan. 10.

This past Wednesday was my last day as Mayor for the City of Wildomar. After twelve rewarding years on the Wildomar Council, I am transitioning to the Riverside County Auditor-Controller’s office. If your schedule allows, please consider joining me at the County Administrative Center on January 10th - where I will be sworn in that morning.

The Riverside County Registrar of Voters has completed counting ballots cast in the Nov. 8th election. Having received 262,409 votes - I am humbled and honored to serve the entire County as your next Auditor-Controller.
