Bowling shoes were part of the uniform last night as Ripon PD, EMS, and Fire Departments entertained kids in the annual “Shop with Emergency Personnel”! Fun for everyone with bowling, pizza, and gifts for the Christmas season. Thanks to all our donors for making this annual event special for some great families in the Ripon Community!

The RAFD would like to remind you of a few Turkey Day fire safety tips:

• NEVER deep fry a frozen turkey. Make sure it is COMPLETELY thawed.
• ALWAYS deep fry your turkey outside and away from your house and deck.
• ALWAYS have a working fire extinguisher nearby.

Our Firefighters want to thank Paige Kane and family for stopping by the fire station today with some holiday treats! They are so yummy!

Now is a great time to plan for another Wisconsin winter!

1. Stock up on supplies for your home AND your car: food, water, flashlights, batteries, blankets, a snow shovel, extra gloves and hats, cell phone charger, and kitty litter or sand to help give your wheels traction on icy roads in case you get stuck.
2. Test carbon monoxide detectors and have fresh batteries on hand.
3. Keep heating devices away from curtains or other objects that could catch fire.
4. Have your furnace serviced regularly.
5. Have a plan for what to do if you lose power at home.

The Ripon Area Fire District provided the venue and participated in the Active Shooter Training last night. Thank you to everyone who turned out.

RPD, Ripon EMS, Ripon Fire Dept., and members of the Ripon Area School District Administration Teams got together last night for some Active Shooter Management Training. Learning roles and response, as well as teamwork, to respond to these types of incidents. Everyone working with the goal of protecting Ripon.

On this Veterans Day, let us remember the service of our veterans. The Ripon Area Fire District recognizes and thanks all our Veterans for serving our nation and defending our freedoms!

“Fall” into the habit of changing the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors when you turn your clocks back one hour.

With cooler temperatures, we spend more time inside. Furnaces, fireplaces, etc. are used more - making alarms all the more important. Don’t become a statistic – change your batteries today.

Every year the fire department teams up with roadhouse pizza. Tonight the fire department will be delivering pizzas from road house. If you are lucky enough to get your pizza delivered by a fire engine your pizza could be free! If you let the firefighters in to test your smoke detector and it works your pizza is free! If it doesn’t work or you don’t have one they will give you a smoke detector but you will have to pay for your pizza! 5:30-7:30

Tonight.... October 30th beginning at 5:30pm Ripon Fire Dept. will randomly deliver pizzas from Road House Pizza (Ripon) by fire truck along with Ace Hardware. See details below!

Take your chance for a FREE PIZZA delivered by a Fire Truck! It's that time of year to change your batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors! Tonight.... October 30th beginning at 5:30pm Ripon Fire Dept. will randomly deliver pizzas from Road House Pizza (Ripon) by fire truck along with Ace Hardware. If your lucky enough to be randomly chosen and allow firefighters inside to check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors and they are in working order, your order will be free! If you don't have working detectors and need batteries or a detector one will be supplied to you by Ripon Ace Hardware. Good Luck and hope to see your working detectors!
