Vortex Volleyball

Coach Alfie went to see Vortex Alumni Becca Rogers and her EKU team vs The Tennessee Vols last night! It was so exciting. Becca showed why she was such a dominate hitter in the Chattanooga area for through her highschool years. You have to play super physical against a monster and talented team like the Vols. EKU is no slouch and well coached.

Sunday was our Commitment Day including gear package sizing and team meet and greet. It was a blast to have so many ballers and their families come through. The event created so much excitement for the upcoming season. We were missing six team photos and a few other players due to prior commitments. Here are some fun facts:

Boyd Buchanan held the Grace Eleanor Mitchell SHOWCASE today and it was full great talent. Coach Alfie was able to get there just in time for the last match between CCS and The Patriots and show some support. It was an awesome match with the teams splitting 1-1. He got some pics with just a few of our Vortex ballers. We can’t wait to watch some area high school volleyball and begin our coaching tour to support our club players and our areas volleyball scene!

Vortex 16 Americana had a fun Team and Family get together. Hard to beat friends, food and a pool!! This team is loaded with talent and excellent coaching.

As High School season gets ready to go full swing, Chattanooga Baylor always throws a highly competitive play day to let teams get solid reps against great competition while working on rotations and chemistry! Here’s a few pics of just some of our Vortex fam and their teams that competed! Good luck to all the area high school programs this season.

Year one was amazing and put our boys the map! Year two is going to be even bigger with the boys game getting more of the spotlight and growing strong. Soon it will be a sanctioned sport in Tennessee high schools! Our boys are ready, we want more! Coach Steve Lohn (our boys director and club strength and conditioning coach) leads the way again and is one of the best there is. Our boys not only get all the skills and drills training in our 4 1/2 court facilities, but they get the advantages of our strength and conditioning center, Vertimax’s and recovery room. We don’t care what level you are, beginner to advanced, we just want athletes! We don’t care if your sister plays for another club. We don’t care if you play other sports, we’ll work with you! Come to one or all of our open gyms, Sundays 3-5 PM to see what it’s all about, tour, play, get a workout in! We are looking and hoping to make multiple teams! Come be a part of our family!

Tryouts were extremely successful! But you’re never so good that you can’t get better. Plenty of room still available with two of the best trainers in the state and surrounding area! Coach Darin and Coach Travis bring the heat! Come get ready for school ball and improve before next club season!!!
