❤️ Meet Our Lead Teacher: Lisa Cobb❤️

Faithful Roots Schoolhouse is honored to welcome Lisa Cobb as our Lead Teacher & Homesteading Skills Director.

Lisa brings a beautiful blend of faith, teaching experience, practical life skills, and a heart for children to the Faithful Roots family. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, follower of Christ, and lifelong teacher at heart. Her love for family, faith, and hands-on learning has shaped the way she serves, teaches, and encourages others.

Lisa accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of twelve, and her faith has continued to guide her throughout every season of life. She and her husband, Dennis, have been married for 28 years, raised two children together, and now enjoy the blessing of four precious grandchildren. Her role as “GeeGee” is one of her greatest joys.

Teaching has been part of Lisa’s life since she was eighteen years old, when she began substitute teaching in Jesup, Georgia. Over the years, she has taught and served in Wayne and Effingham County schools, worked with Pre-K students, led homesteading classes through Effingham Career Academy, and taught both children and adults through her own program, Homesteaders Classroom.

Lisa also has a meaningful background in helping individuals develop confidence and life skills. While serving as an Employment Specialist with B&B Care Services, she earned her ACRE certification through the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators and helped individuals with disabilities build workplace skills and find meaningful employment. That experience deepened her heart for patient instruction, encouragement, and helping every learner recognize their God-given value.

About ten years ago, Lisa and Dennis moved to Bulloch County to pursue a lifelong dream of owning a small hobby farm. Through that journey, Lisa became even more passionate about preserving practical, time-honored skills like gardening, baking bread, preserving food, caring for animals, soap making, and creating with your hands.

That passion led to the beginning of Homesteaders Classroom — a place where children and families could learn practical skills, build confidence, and enjoy community through hands-on experiences.

At Faithful Roots Schoolhouse, Lisa will help students learn by doing. Through farm-based education, children will have opportunities to connect classroom learning with real life. They will see science in the garden, responsibility in caring for animals, creativity in handmade projects, and character growth through patience, perseverance, and hard work.

Lisa’s heart is to help children grow in faith, knowledge, confidence, responsibility, and gratitude. She believes some of the most meaningful lessons are found in simple everyday moments — planting a seed, baking bread, working with others, trying again after a mistake, and recognizing God’s goodness in creation.

We are so thankful to have Lisa Cobb as part of the Faithful Roots Schoolhouse family. Her faith, experience, warmth, and love for teaching make her a wonderful fit for our Christ-centered, farm-based learning model.

Please join us in welcoming Lisa Cobb! 🌱

Rooted in Faith. Growing in Knowledge. Preparing for Life.
