EnCompass Academy

This year, our theme has been “Honk and Roll.” We have fused the district’s theme of Accelerate Effingham with the leadership characteristics we can learn from geese. This month, we are celebrating the Collaborative Champion.

The reason geese fly in a "V" formation is that the whole flock adds greater flying range than if each bird flew alone. As each goose flaps its wings, it creates an "uplift" for the birds that follow. People who all know where they are going and have a sense of “team” will get where they are going quicker and easier. They are traveling on the consistency, trust, and assistance of one another.

We are excited to recognize these staff members as the Collaborative Champions of enCompass Academy: Candice Dixon, Cynthia Lockwood, SRO Robert Ferrara, Richard Michael, Kendra Hurst, and Margie Hall. They work hard every day to help us all be successful. Thank you so much!

Happy has found some friends!

This year, our theme has been “Honk and Roll.” We have fused the district’s theme of Accelerate Effingham with the leadership characteristics we can learn from geese. This month, we are celebrating the Heart and Soul.

Did you know that when a goose gets sick, wounded, or shot down, two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help and protect it. They stay with it until it dies or is able to fly again. Then, they launch out with another formation or catch up with the flock. If we have as much sense as geese, we will stand by each other in difficult times as well as when we are strong.

We are excited to recognize these staff members as the Heart and Soul of enCompass Academy: Ms. Jessica Slaymaker, Mrs. Tracy Owens, and Ms. Charlotte Quinn. They work hard every day to help us all be successful. Thank you so much!

We have had fun at enCompass Academy with our very own Winter Olympic Games. From the opening ceremonies to bubble gum blowing to speed walking, we have covered much ground here. 🇺🇸

The staff at enCompass Academy were blessed with a delicious lunch for Parent Teacher Conferences by the amazing folks at Bible Lutheran Church. Our bellies are full, and our hearts are grateful! ❤️
