Some Astoria Mat Club kids attended the No Limits Wrestling Clubs full day 🤼‍♀️ Clinic and it did not disappoint!

At every wrestling tournament
There is one match most people don’t notice

The one off the mat

Parents wake up before the sun
Pack food
Tape fingers
Check brackets
Wait

They sit on hard bleachers for hours
For six minutes their kid gets to compete

The medal goes around the wrestler’s neck
But the exhaustion belongs to the parents

Missed work days
Cold gyms
Fast food dinners
Quiet drives home after losses

That confidence your child carries onto the mat
Was built in the car
In the kitchen
In the moments you didn’t quit

Wrestling doesn’t just build tough kids
It builds strong families

And the parents are a bigger part of that than they’ll ever admit

Astoria Mat Club participated in the Ilwaco Christmas Classic Tournament today. They all had fierce competition but did a great job and we are proud of all of them!

Two of our Mat Club girls are heading to Scappoose today to participate in the Middle School Girls District Tournament. We wish them the best of luck as they compete to advance to the State Tournament.
