Good Morning
We are aware of the EHV in Texas and Oklahoma. The Washington State Veterinarian’s Office is coordinating with the affected states and are currently awaiting to receive trace information from Texas and Oklahoma. If they receive traces from the other states, they will contact those owners directly and issue State Hold Orders to mitigate further spread of the disease. Please use the previous link from EDCC for disease alerts. I will also post links below with EHV1 information and vaccination guidelines.

Hint: This parasite lays eggs on a horse’s legs before eventually being ingested.
To help prevent and manage unhealthy parasitic loads in your horse, work with your veterinarian.
