'It's our second Independence Day' Ridgecrest Community comes together to celebrate Juneteenth The Ridgecrest Community Garden is about giving and education and on June 19th the Ridgecrest community came together for a Juneteenth celebration that emphasized unity.

We are extremely excited about our 2nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration. We have amazing partners and we are truly honored by those who stepped up to help sponsor the event. This is an event that some prominent entities opted out of being a part of due to them considering it "a hot potato". We have to continue to push unity and cultural awareness to help alleviate the fear of supporting such events. Thank you to our supporters.

Gardens For Good: PLANT IT FORWARD® From now until June 25, 2023, VOTE for your favorite community garden and strengthen their chance to receive $7,500 in grant money. To put your vote into perspective, every $1 invested in a community garden yields around $6 worth of produce.

We are extremely excited for the Open House & Virtual Informational Session of TAC Farms: Teaching & Innovation Farm Lab  of The Allensworth Progressive Association located in the historic town of Allensworth, California. TAC Farms has been awarded a grant through The California Department of Food & Agriculture to develop a Beginning Farmer Training Program. This program provides comprehensive training on how to become a successful farmer and offers the opportunity for participants to own their own land.

We believe that farming is not only a way to sustain oneself but also a way to contribute to the local economy and community. Therefore, we are dedicated to helping aspiring farmers achieve their dreams by providing them with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.

The open house will take place this summer both online and physically, near the end of June, providing you with the flexibility to attend in whichever way suits you best. The virtual event has been set for July 6th at 6pm. We will start the event by introducing our organization and the farmer training program, followed by a Q&A session where you can ask any questions you may have.
