Each May, we recognize the contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities for AAPI Heritage Month. The term AAPI encompasses many countries, nationalities, identities, and languages —all with needs based on current and historical contexts.

As AAPI Heritage Month coincides with Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re sharing some information about mental health in AAPI communities.

Here are some shareable graphics that you can post on your personal social media pages to help spread awareness about this important topic.

Each year, we observe May as National Mental Health Month.

This year's theme is "Back to Basics." Together, our goal is to provide foundational knowledge about mental health and mental health conditions and information about what people can do if their mental health is a cause for concern.

Look for stories of care, connection, and awareness resources on our page throughout the month!

Join us and millions of other people on National Denim Day, Wednesday, April 27, in supporting survivors and spreading awareness and education around sexual violence.

Additionally, there will be a community meet-and-greet on Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Freedom Park to meet local agencies and learn how they advocate and protect us from r**e and assault at the local level.

You should!

Staff created an inspirational community rock garden exactly two years ago. It started when all staff members painted a rock with something inspiring and meaningful to put in the garden. Over time, the garden grew! Community members are always invited to paint a rock that is meaningful to them and add it to the garden and/or take a rock that inspires them.

Stay tuned for an exciting project related to this garden happing this spring!
