Exercise your right to vote!!

On June 4, 1919, Congress passed the 19th Amendment, taking a historic step toward securing women’s right to vote in the United States.

The suffragists who came before us organized, marched, protested, and persevered for decades to make their voices heard. Their victory was a powerful reminder that progress is never simply given—it is won through courage, persistence, and collective action.

Today, we honor the women who fought for this fundamental right and recommit ourselves to protecting and expanding democracy for future generations. Voting rights, equality, and representation remain worth fighting for.

As we celebrate this milestone, let’s remember: the work is not finished. The torch has been passed to us.

I was honored to have the pleasure of engaging with the criminal justice class at Richmond High School this morning. The students had excellent, thoughtful questions and comments. I believe our future is bright and I’m motivated to serve Wayne County thoughtfully to promote the safety and wellbeing of our community. -Jessica-

Happy Mother’s Day! I was blessed to celebrate yesterday with my mom who has shown me love, encouragement, and strength. Thank you to all the moms, and mother figures, who have given their all to love and care for their children and others. 💕
