Rose-Marie and I are really excited to be the hosting the opening of Pam Fraizer, FraizerDesigns, newest series featuring portraits of influential feminists.
Opening nights are December 3 and 4, 2021...zionsville rocks
Why do I design and illustrate? Because I can. And have been doing it for almost 20 years. Let's tal Graphic art, design and custom illustrations

In 2021, I started painting, almost every day. On Friday, from 6–9pm, The Art Association of Randolph County (at the Arts Depot, 115 N Howard St., Union City, IN) will host an opening featuring two of my portrait collections—"Bombshells" (portraits of influential women) and "Legends of Starr-Gennett". I counted this morning — there are 54 individual works.
Vicki Vardaman and AARC put on a lovely evening. Would love to see you there!

Enzo and the Case of the Friend Who Wouldn't Play
The second Enzo book is available now on Amazon😀

Morrisson-Reeves Library presentation " Bombshells: an Artist Talk with Pam Frazier" 03/30/2022
Here's my recorded Bombshells "Artist Talk" at Morrisson-Reeves library a couple weeks ago. I say "so" a lot. 😂 I talk about how my portraits came to be and answer some attendee questions:

Morrisson-Reeves Library presentation " Bombshells: an Artist Talk with Pam Frazier" 03/30/2022 Artist Pam Frazier talks about her current exhibition "Bombshells" on display at Morrisson-Reeves.

She's ready for a bright backgrounds color, quote and, apparently, a dragon pin😄

Still always to go, but getting closer:

More on Madeleine Albright today:

Have a handful of "Bombshells" started and ready for more color and details over the next few days.
Here's the start of Madeleine Albright:

Starting a portrait of Olena Zelenska, the first lady of Ukraine.

I am doing a short presentation on my "Bombshells" project at MRL in Richmond next Wednesday at 6pm. I will be bringing between two and four brand new paintings with me for this event (and maybe some prints). If you're interested in the back story of my self-assigned project (and haven't heard it already), I hope you will consider dropping by. I would love to see you!

Rats! I think this was better one or two iterations ago. I will go back later to tone down the highlights and brighten the background.

Good stopping place on this commissioned portrait of Laurie Anderson.

I'm feeling about halfway done with this commissioned portrait of Patti Smith. I don't want to lose the rough look.

Starting a couple new portraits for a commissioned, sub-collection of "Bombshells". There will be 13-14 individual paintings -- "Women that Rock Hard"😎

When Lisa Combs read the next Enzo manuscript to me, I could immediately see it in my head. And... it is hilarious! I knew that the storyboard would come together quickly. These sketches don't look like much, but it helps me plan the layout and makes the final digital illustrations go much more smoothly.
"Enzo and the Case of the Friend Who Wouldn't Play" will be released (likely) mid April. So exciting😄

Prepping for the next three days:
1. Sketch out Lisa Combs ' latest Enzo book
2. Start the first three in a series of women rock-'n'-roll giants -- a subset of my "Bombshells" series (first three are Tracey Chapman, Laurie Anderson, and Patti Smith).
3. Work out the next prototype for the step-by-step painting class (this time, on reclaimed wood)

My two portraits are up at AARC (Arts Depot Union City, OH)...along with this amazing sculpture.110 individual pieces in this show. Opening Thursday, March 24 😄 (photos by Vicki Vardaman)

Last week's class went pretty well, seven nice ladies stopped by. I'm pretty sure I learned more than they did😂
I found a tutorial with a simple step-by-step project on YouTube of a cute coffee cup. So, I'm going to use that class and give it my own spin. It's obvious to me that I could use some practice with still life🤔, and will likely try another before Wednesday. It is fun and relaxing just to paint little things like this.
I believe that's the most important element of these classes.
Thinking about bringing in pieces of barn siding instead of canvas boards for one of the next classes.

She just needs some color in the background. I usually default to yellow, but may go with a florescent blue🤔

I'm going to be leading step-by-step painting class during the month of March for neighbors in the Shadeland area (here in Indy).
Here's my simple prototype for the first session. I want to encourage people to perhaps paint on their own. I'll be encouraging attendees to add their own touches too! Some may even want add inspiring words or phrases.
First class is Wednesday, I'm excited and nervous😃

Now, it's done:

This is close to done. While deciding which Tupac poems to include, I found another woman to include in my portrait collection. Afeni Shakur was Tupac's mom, and a member of the Black Panthers. Her quote about naming her son had to be included in this painting; "I wanted him to have the name of revolutionary indigenous people in the world culture and not just from a neighborhood."

All of the paintings from my "Collection of Feminists" have been scanned, and are available for print orders. These are high-quality, giclee prints on beautiful archival paper, trim size 14 x 14. I will hand sign and add your favorite quote—$50 each (including shipping).
Others will be added as I work through my list. If there's someone you'd like me to paint, please let me know. Commissions are always welcome😀
I am currently researching the best way to have a dedicated website to sell artwork. Hopefully, I will get that figured out this month.

It's better (well it's different and not in a bad way)😃
Before and after:
**kmisogyny

Yesterday evening, I was considering starting over on this portrait of Joni Mitchell. I had started with water colors, then went back with acrylics, resulting in a big murky mess
This morning, I remembered that I have a nearly unused oil pastel set... maybe this can be saved (or irreparably ruined)😂😂😂
**kmisogyny

(Almost) all of my F-Misogyny portraits are available for prints — and can be customized with your favorite quotes from each individual woman. The standard size of these—10x10 image with a two-inch border for hand-lettering (final size of piece 12x12). I am working on getting an online shop completed, but in the meantime, please IM me for details.
Of course, all the originals are for sale too. Don't see your favorite? Custom orders are welcome😀
Lisa Combs talking about our new series for 2022...starting ENZO🤩

The latest portrait in my "F**kMisogny" series, Pauli Murray:

Trying a different approach on this next batch🙂

I don't usually outline stuff in black, but this time, it really makes this fantasy portrait pop...kinda like a comic book illustration:

Finishing up this mural at Hill's Pet Nutrition tomorrow. Here's the project, start to (almost) finish 😀

It occurred to me about halfway through my "F**kMisogny" paintings that there were feminists in my life -- the first person I thought of was Bonnie Miller . Bonnie was the inspiration for me to ask folks to suggest their own feminist heros. Three friends stepped forward immediately (and I mean, not 10 minutes after I put out the request). See if you recognize these inspiring women.
In true Bonnie fashion, she immediately sent a photo and described her mom. Every single person wrote me texts/emails that made me cry.
If I didn't get to your portrait this time, you are next on the list. I simply ran out of time -- this time😎

Stacked up, and ready for the opening events this Friday & Saturday, 5-8 at Robert Goodman Jewelers in Zionsville.
This is phase one, as I have an ENORMOUS list of women to paint!
I thought I may be exhausted after completing this first 20, but feel compelled to continue this project. Have to get to other things for a bit, but will be picking up after the first of the year😀
— at Robert Goodman Jewelers.

This Friday and Saturday: The opening of "F*ck Misogyny", my collection of feminist portraits.
I'm putting some last details on the paintings (and hoping to finish three more). I could paint feminists for the rest of my life and never run out of subjects to paint. I hope that these first 20 are a good start.
Opening events at Robert Goodman Jewelers, Main Street, Zionsville, 5pm to 8pm, Dec. 3 & 4.

I liked how bright the first pass was, although it didn't capture the sky right after a storm. I need to look at it for a bit:

The dates have been set for the opening of my new collection—December 3 and 4! Thanks to Robert Goodman Jewelers in Zionsville, for agreeing to host!
