Today we celebrate the fathers, father figures, and mentors who have been there every step of the way. Thank you for all you do and for being part of the Comet family.

Owner of Crack Brisket, Mac Magalindan BS’05, is a native of the Philippines who lives in Allen, Texas. He discovered that smoking and barbecuing brisket was a great way to decompress from his nine-to-five job, and it eventually became a way for him to connect with Asian communities and others across North Texas. The University of Texas at Dallas earned a school-record five places — four students and an alum — in the Fulbright U.S. Student Program this spring. The recipients have disparate backgrounds, experiences and aspirations — from teaching to conducting research to pursuing law careers. UT Dallas alumni are invited to apply to participate in CometX, a six-week startup accelerator July 8 to Aug. 19. Sponsored by the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the free program is open to UT Dallas students, faculty, staff and alumni. Participants will come together for a bonus week to pitch innovation ideas for startups to mentors and industry leaders for feedback. The 15th annual Callier Cares Luncheon brought together nearly 300 supporters and raised more than $380,000 for the Callier Care Fund, of which 100% goes directly to patient support.
