As a single mother, public education professional, church leader, and recent Master's graduate, Shentia never stopped showing up for her family, her work, and her community, even when reliable transportation became one of her biggest obstacles.
On giveaway day, we had the privilege of placing the keys to a Toyota Camry in her hands. But what stood out most wasn't the car, it was Shentia's gratitude and her unwavering commitment to giving all glory to God for every step of her journey.
Today, that vehicle represents more than transportation. It represents opportunity, freedom, and one less burden for a family that has demonstrated incredible perseverance and faith.

What if doing the right thing meant losing your housing, your job, and having to completely start over? Would you still have the courage to act?

A few weeks ago, we had the honor of giving a beautifully maintained Hyundai Sonata to our 68th client. While they’ve asked us not to share their identity or personal details, we can share this: they made an incredibly brave decision to protect members of their family, even though it came at a tremendous personal cost.
Since then, they’ve walked through painful seasons of loss and rebuilding, but they’ve come out on the other side with hope, strength, and their integrity fully intact.

Their advocate, Lucy from In My Shoes, shared that this client has not only excelled in the program, but has also become a source of encouragement and inspiration to others around them.
One of the most special moments from giveaway day was that the family who donated the vehicle was able to meet the client receiving it. Before donating the car, the entire family: mom, dad, and kids prayed over it together, asking God to use it to bless someone in need. One of the children specifically prayed that it would “go to a mommy” who needed a car.
And it did. 💙

Aging out of the foster care system can mean stepping into adulthood without many of the resources or support systems others often take for granted. For many young adults, reliable transportation, financial stability, and even learning how to drive can become enormous barriers to moving forward.
Our 67th client, “Ryan”*, was nominated by Zahra from Our Community Our Kids, a Fort Worth organization serving children and young adults connected to foster care and adoption services. Zahra shared how difficult this transition can be — but also how incredibly driven and resilient so many of these young adults are.
Ryan* is a perfect example of that determination. While pursuing a double major in college, working, and paying bills, they’ve been navigating public transportation across the metroplex every day to build a better future.
This week, we had the honor of gifting Ryan* a Pontiac Vibe and welcoming them into the OnRamp DFW family. 🚗
Reliable transportation may seem small to some, but for young adults aging out of foster care, it can open doors to opportunity, stability, and independence.
