The route to our destination is never a straight one.

We take questionable turns and we get lost. We double back to double down and check the locks on doors we should leave open.

It doesn’t always matter which road we embark on; what matters is that we embark at all. Either way life will get complicated. It will bring unexpected hurdles and changes... but babe... hear me when I say that is OK.

Sometimes we have to stumble and feel lost for a while to realize how insanely powerful we really are.

So if you were to ask me... after all that I've been through....

"Still believe in magic?"

Well yes, I do...

Of course I do....

We lost another beautiful soul yesterday from the Black Sheep tribe.

Fly high Eric Powell, you were always such an awesome client to work with.

Thank you for the undying support over the last 10 years!!

Before I drop the ball and fail to wish all of the mommas out there a Happy Mother's Day... I am here to do it anyway day early!

So here it goes... not quite in line with Hallmark but what else would you expect from me ;)

Mine will be eventful in it's own way. After being off of work for the week I ease back into my part time gig bartending at my favorite Up North Supper Club The Knotty Barrel in downtown Minocqua tonight.

This week was tough. I won't lie.

(Insert me bashing my head against the wall in disbelief).

I am tired.

I am having one of those days where you second guess yourself and every second of your parenting while yearning for "simpler " times while simultaneously feeling a world of possibility at my fingertips.

But maybe that is the nature of this gig in the first place?

We think we are in charge of raising these tiny people into "fully functioning adults"...

When all the while they are raising us...

Teaching us important lessons about patience.
Kindness.
Grace.
Grit and forgiveness.

It is messy.

It is HARD.

It is Heartbreaking.

And if there really is some kind of secret record being kept of my "mom score" I'd put money on my mistakes outweighing my victories.

But nothing. No one and no thing will ever out weigh my love.

So to the mommas...

I see you. I applaud you. I admire you and I believe in you.

I hope your mother's day is fantastic.

Before getting completely sidelined this week, ending up in the ER and couch bound - I managed to sneak into work on Sunday and I am so grateful I did.

With the help of my village and stubborn soul I was able to spend the afternoon with my new client Sarah.

Sarah traveled all the way up from Madison for a custom bind rune spinal piece to honor her past. Her present and to look to the future.

It was MY honor to spend your 48th birthday with you beautiful.

Here's to many more trips around the sun lady!
