ASRC Federal’s Matthew Mudrak has been named a 2024 Nextgov Rising Star! ⭐

The Rising Stars list recognizes talented and ambitious technologists across federal, state, and local government, as well as contractors serving the public sector. Matthew serves as a Mechanical Lead and played a key role in the development of the Orion vehicle for Artemis 1 -- the mission to advance human exploration on the Moon and future missions to Mars. ASRC Federal has been selected alongside Kratos to help create and operate an Advanced Fire Control Ground Infrastructure (AFCGI) for the U.S. Space Development Agency (SDA) Advanced Fire Control (AFC) program in Huntsville, AL. 🛰️💫

ASRC Federal will work with Kratos and provide operational staffing and sustainment capabilities for the Demonstration Operations Center (DOC) to support advanced fire control demonstrations. This program will aim to evolve the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture capabilities to deliver precise, real-time coordination for tracking operations in space for effective responses to advanced missile threats, including hypersonic missiles.

Meet Ian Ross! Ian is a GEO Spacecraft Navigation Lead at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Facility in Maryland. Ian manages the NOAA and USSF Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites, ensuring they stay on course and avoid collisions with other satellites or space debris. His team also guarantees that these satellites deliver accurate imaging and data on hazardous weather patterns.

Throughout 2024, the U.S. hosted a record-setting number of orbital launches. 🪐 🚀 This exciting growth in space exploration can create congestion at launch sites due to logistics and limited space. In a Gov Exec Space Project article, Scott Altman, ASRC Federal Space Operating Group President, recommends four strategies for the U.S. to support the rapid increase in space launches.
