Want to know what it's like to play with the RCO? Join our open summer reading sessions! Every Monday in July we open our rehearsals to anyone who wants to spend an evening playing beautiful music. We'll be exploring Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony along with a number of overtures, and other great works. Please sign up in advance so we have music ready for you. Link is in the comments.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Italian-themed concert evening!

Our audience was treated to a thrilling musical journey through Italy, featuring beloved opera overtures ranging from Verdi’s powerful drama to Rossini’s sparkling wit. The concert brought to life some of the most exciting orchestral music ever written. Verdi’s overtures filled the hall with sweeping melodies, dark intensity, and moments of heroic grandeur, while the famous Triumphal March from Aida dazzled with bold brass fanfares and majestic ceremonial energy. In contrast, Rossini’s beloved overtures sparkled with lively rhythms, playful humor, and irresistible charm — music bursting with mischief, elegance, and joy.

We were also delighted to begin the evening with a special pre-concert quartet aperitif performance of Vivaldi’s "Spring" by Nota Bene, bringing the beauty and energy of the season to life.

Your support, enthusiasm, and applause made the night truly special for our musicians and community. Grazie mille for being part of the experience — we look forward to seeing you next season!

Ever wondered what it's like to play with the RCO? Join us for our Summer Reading Sessions! Whether you're returning to your instrument or play regularly, these sessions are a fun way to make music, preview next season's repertoire and connect with fellow musicians in the community. The reading sessions will be held on July 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Reston Community Center Hunter's Woods. $20 per session for adults, $10 per session for youth. Our season finale concert is this Saturday at 4 p.m. at Epiphany Episcopal Church. Join us as we perform the music of Verdi and Rossini in a musical travelogue of Italian opera classics. What a treat! Our P-P-P Pi Day extravaganza featured a dazzling performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, brought to life by our guest artists—pianist Ralitza Patcheva, cellist Vasily Popov—and our very own Maestro Dietrich Paredes on violin.
