Rescue Reston
We strongly oppose this action based on Reston's history of communal open spaces and long standing zoning ordinances.
Rescue Reston is a grassroots community organization that is committed to defending Reston's two golf courses which have land use designations of private recreation use, more specifically to remain as golf courses. We were brought to action by a July 27, 2012 proposal from the owners of the Reston National Golf Course to turn the golf course's open space into a residential development. A significa

Worth repeating.
"On a broader scale it is vitally important that these golf courses remain as part of Reston, as they currently exist - meaning: no development incursions into golf course property nor modification from, for example, 18 to nine holes. The green space provided by the golf courses is beneficial to the entire Reston community, even for non-golfers. It is aesthetically pleasing and provides home to a wide range of wildlife." - D. W. Donnell,
North Reston resident
