Thank you to all who celebrated the 20 year anniversary of the Hartke Building, home of National Realty! The food (Glory Days), the drinks, and the wild Dunk Tank was a sunny success! It was a great time with past clients and friends of the Hartkes and many of their 150 agents. Keith and Paul bought the building in 2006 after running National Realty and other franchise real estate companies since the 1990s. They also rent office space and virtual offices to small area businesses. (See our real estate agents in the earlier post below who did recent sales- Congratulations!) Keith and Kimberly Hartke, Paul and Realtor Connie Hartke want to thank all who attended and look forward to future events and friendship.

What’s happening: As you drive along Sunrise Valley Drive, you may have noticed the ongoing utility work between Soapstone Drive and Reston Parkway. This is preparation to build a sidewalk along this stretch of Sunrise Valley Drive on the road’s north side.

Background: The Board of Supervisors accepted the land from developer JGB Smith last year (see my motion to accept the land), and this approximately $4.5 million project to complete the missing 1,500-feet of sidewalk is in the county’s Transportation Priorities Plan.

All toys will be distributed to needy children within Fairfax County and to Herndon & Reston children via the non-profit Herndon-Reston FISH, Inc. Toys should be for the ages of 2 months to early teens. The last day for donations is December 10.
