Recite is an online software as service system that allows any website to become accessible to users with visual impairments or dyslexia.
Recite is an online software as a service system, which acts as a translation layer intercepting websites online in accessible formats. It repackages them and adds disability functions from text-to-speech, high contrast colour schemes, enlarging words through to dictionary and thesaurus definitions. This Learning Disability Week, started by Mencap, of course we're banging the drum for making digital information accessible to everyone.
Did you know Recite Me was founded because our CEO, Ross Linnett, struggled to access digital information due to his dyslexia?
Dyslexia is a learning difficulty that can affect reading, writing and spelling. Challenges with word recognition, font choice, text size and colour contrast can all make digital content harder to access. Many people with dyslexia may also experience difficulties with organisation, concentration and time management.
Yet dyslexia is no barrier to success. Some of the world's most recognised innovators and thinkers, including Sir Richard Branson, Agatha Christie and Albert Einstein, are widely associated with dyslexia, highlighting the incredible strengths, creativity and problem-solving abilities many dyslexic people bring.
We're committed to removing digital barriers and helping everyone access online content in the way that works best for them.
We're proud to launch Focus Audio, a new feature within the Recite Me Assistive Toolbar inspired by a collaboration with students from The Orpheus Centre.
As part of a series of product development workshops, students worked alongside our team to explore how digital products are designed and developed. Through sharing their experiences of focus, concentration and reading online, they helped shape an idea that has now become a live feature.
The project demonstrates the value of involving people with lived experience in the development of accessibility solutions and highlights how collaboration can drive meaningful innovation.
Thank you to the students and staff at Orpheus Centre for helping bring Focus Audio to life.

ADA compliance isn't just about fixing issues once.
With multiple teams managing content and requirements constantly evolving, keeping on top of WCAG 2.2 takes a clear, repeatable process.
Kenosha County recognized this and built accessibility into their day-to-day by using the Recite Me Accessibility Checker to scan, identify, and prioritize fixes across their site.
The result? Issues are identified sooner, fixes are prioritized faster, and residents get a more inclusive digital experience ✅

Today, we're celebrating Global Accessibility Awareness Day!
The most important takeaway is not the food, but moving from awareness to action.
Because in 2026, when it comes to digital accessibility: you can't do nothing, you can't do everything.
But you need to take proportionate action and document your journey.
