DL1000 Tech Tip!
The TPS (throttle position sensor) is a finicky part of the Vstrom DL1000. I had a DL1000 that had a stumble at idle. The bike ran perfect down the road but would hiccup when idling and sometimes would even die at idle. It would start right back up but was a frustrating problem.
The fix is to adjust the TPS. Sometimes the TPS needs replaced but often a fairly simple adjustment is all it needs. I followed the instructions here:

I love to hear back from renters following a rental. This is the most recent feedback:
I rented a Vstrom for four days. My Son (23) Moved to Seattle and I flew out from Pennsylvania to do a ride with him (600 miles around Mt Rainier and then up the West Side of the Sound).
Rob answered an email from me immediately, kept in touch with me for the three weeks prior to our ride and charged me the price he quoted.
I showed up with a backpack and no gear except boots. Rob set me up with gloves, Helmet & Crash Jacket (beautiful since I didn't want to check this stuff for my flight).
He's suggested where to ride, supplied maps to my cell (even though we chose another destination). When we got back, he knew every road we took, every Tavern that we stopped at, and the service that we received before telling him.
The bike was in perfect mechanical condition, ran smooth and gave me the ride I was looking for.

MANY successful rentals in the last couple weeks. The weather has hit the peak of the Washington riding season. So many people say it just rains here. Little do they know we have some of the nicest summers anywhere. All the high mountain roads are now open and ready to ride. Send an inquiry now and be on the road within the hour.

Hello fellow riders-
My favorite part of the riding season is here! The passes are open but still the landscape is still covered with snow. The ride up Cayuse and Chinook pass on to Mount Rainier/Paradise is my favorite ride in the state. You can then take a run down Forest Service Road 25 behind Saint Helens. FS 25 is incredible this time of year.
Hit these roads now before traffic takes over and limits the fun!

The gorgeous weather has arrived! I have started mapping out some of the Northwests best rides. This coastal ride is one of my favorites in the early season. The high mountain passes are still buried in snow so take a long weekend and head out to the coast.
