šŸ‘Øā€šŸ‘¦ What if we’ve been focusing on the wrong person in the story all along?

Most people know it as the story of the Prodigal Son.

But the more I’ve studied Luke 15:11-32, the more convinced I’ve become that the story isn’t really about the sons at all.

It’s about the Father.

One son ran away.
One son stayed home.
One was rebellious.
One was religious.

Yet both had a distorted view of their father.

This Father’s Day, we’re going to take a fresh look at one of the most powerful stories Jesus ever told and discover the heart of a Father who pursues, restores, forgives, celebrates, and never stops loving His children.

The truth is, many people are still living like orphans when God has called them sons and daughters.

As Paul wrote in Romans 8, we have not received a spirit of bo***ge again to fear, but the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ā€œAbba, Father.ā€

You were never created to live as an orphan.
You were created to know the Father’s heart.

Whether you’ve walked with God for decades, drifted away, or are simply searching for something real, I believe this message will encourage and challenge you.

Join us tomorrow as we Honor The Father.

As I was spending time in the Word this morning, I found myself reading Luke chapter 9.

Jesus said:

No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Luke 9:62 (NKJV)

The more I thought about it, the more I realized how many people are trying to move forward while constantly looking backward.

Looking back at failures.
Looking back at disappointments.
Looking back at missed opportunities.
Looking back at frustrating conversations.
Looking back at seasons that are already over.

You cannot effectively plow a straight row while constantly looking behind you.

Last week’s frustrations may have taught you something. They may have revealed something. They may have even strengthened you. But they were never meant to become your focus.

The Kingdom has always been a forward-moving Kingdom.

God is not asking you to ignore the lessons of yesterday. He’s asking you not to live there.

There are new opportunities ahead of you.
New doors.
New growth.
New victories.
New assignments.
New grace for this season.

Don’t allow yesterday’s inconvenience to become tomorrow’s limitation.

Lift your eyes.
Refocus your heart.
Trust God’s direction.

The same God who brought you through last week is already waiting for you in this one.

Move forward with faith, expectation, and confidence.

Your purpose is still intact.
God’s promises are still true.
And your best days are not behind you they’re still ahead.

Have you ever felt like there has to be more?

More than routine.
More than religion.
More than just going through the motions.

I think a lot of people are asking that question right now.

That’s why this conversation matters.

Last Sunday we started talking about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, and honestly, we ran out of time before we ran out of things to talk about. The deeper we went, the clearer it became:
God isn’t just looking for gifted people. He’s looking for people He can trust.

This Sunday we’re picking up right where we left off.

We’ll be diving deeper into the Gifts of the Spirit, why they still matter today, and why God’s Kingdom values relationship before gifts, maturity before manifestation, and order before operation.

The Holy Spirit isn’t a relic of the past.

He’s still changing lives, healing hearts, speaking, leading, and empowering people today.

Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years, have questions about spiritual gifts, or you’re simply searching for something real, there’s a place for you in this conversation.

Come expecting.
Come curious.
Come hungry.

I believe God has more for us than surface-level faith.

We saved you a seat.

Yesterday we talked about the power of our words.

When Moses sent the twelve spies into the Promised Land in (Numbers 13-14), they all received the same assignment. They saw the same land, the same giants, and the same evidence of God’s promise.

Yet ten returned with a report rooted in fear while two returned with a report rooted in faith.

The difference wasn’t what they saw.

The difference was what they believed and what they spoke.

As we begin moving into a deeper understanding of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, this becomes important.

Because the Holy Spirit doesn’t simply want to work through us. He wants to work in us.

A heart filled with faith will speak differently than a heart filled with fear.

A person who is sensitive to the Holy Spirit will learn to agree with what God is saying rather than what circumstances are shouting.

The gifts of the Spirit were never intended to flow from a place of pride, fear, negativity, or unbelief. They flow from relationship, surrender, obedience, and faith.

Before God uses our mouths to encourage others, He often deals with what is coming out of our mouths about ourselves, our families, our church, and our future.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21)

This week, pay attention to your words.

Are they creating an atmosphere for faith?
Are they creating room for the Holy Spirit to move?
Are they agreeing with God’s promises or with your fears?

The same Holy Spirit who gives gifts is also shaping hearts.

Let’s be people who not only desire His gifts but also learn to speak in agreement with His voice. šŸ”„

Ever leave a conversation feeling like there was so much more to say?

That’s honestly how I felt after Sunday. We started talking about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, Kingdom order, and the culture of Heaven, and before I knew it, the clock was working against me.

One of the biggest questions we wrestled with was this: Why does God care so much about maturity before manifestation?

In a world that celebrates platform, influence, and performance, God’s Kingdom still values character, relationship, and spiritual growth. Everybody wants the gifts, but are we becoming the kind of people God can trust with them?

This Sunday we’re picking up right where we left off. We’ll continue exploring the Gifts of the Spirit, why they still matter today, and why Heaven operates through order not confusion.

If you’ve ever had questions about the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts, or what a healthy Spirit-filled church should actually look like, I’d love for you to join us.

No hype.
No pressure.
Just people pursuing Jesus and learning to walk with the Holy Spirit.

We saved you a seat.
