Nevada breast and cervical screening services to support and increase population-based screenings fo

To improve access to screening, Congress passed the Breast and Cervical Cancer Mortality Prevention Act of 1990, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) created the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP). The NBCCEDP funds all 50 states, the District of Columbia, 5 U.S. territories, and 11 American Indian/Alaska Native tribes or tribal organizations

The Women’s Health Connection (WHC) program administered by Access to Healthcare Network provides breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services to low-income women who are uninsured or underinsured (cannot afford the cost of care). Thanks to the generosity of WHC providers, Nevada women who meet certain qualifications may be eligible to receive free cervical and breast cancer screenings at no charge.

If you are age 21-65 you’re at the age to get screened for cervical cancer. Insurance covers this screening as part of preventive health benefits. Access to Healthcare Network can help those without insurance to find free or low-cost screening.
