Advocacy isn't just a buzzword. It's showing up.

Miranda Hoover, Jason Case, and Peter Krueger represented Nevada's fuel industry at EMA Day on the Hill in Washington, D.C., sitting down with elected officials to advance critical conversations around Nevada's fuel infrastructure, energy resilience, and the issues that matter most to our members.

As Jason Case said it best: "If you don't have a seat at the table, you might be on the menu."

ECAN is committed to making sure Nevada's fuel retailers are never excluded from the decisions that shape their businesses, their communities, and the future of this industry.

Exciting news out of Southern Nevada. Terrible's has reached an agreement with the Primm family to take over operations at Primm Valley Casino Resort, preventing a July 4 shutdown that would have left more than 300 employees without work and one of the state's most recognizable border destinations.

The deal brings the Herbst family back to Primm, where they previously operated the casinos under Herbst Gaming before a 2010 bankruptcy. A special licensing hearing is scheduled for June 25 before the Nevada Gaming Control Board and Gaming Commission.

For Nevada's fuel and convenience retail community, Primm is more than a casino town. It's a major travel corridor stop, home to a Flying J, lottery sales, and fueling infrastructure that serves drivers crossing between Nevada and California every day. Keeping it open matters.

We'll be watching the June 25 hearing closely.

With a turnout like this, we had to split the highlights and we’re not mad about it. More great teams, more great moments, and more reasons this was our best Big Dogs event yet.

Phillips 66 and Kinder Morgan are moving forward with the Western Gateway Pipeline, a refined products pipeline system that will connect Midwest and Gulf Coast refinery supply to markets in Phoenix, Arizona and California, with additional connectivity to Las Vegas, Nevada. Following a successful second open season that secured long-term shipper commitments, the project is now advancing toward final agreements and board approvals.

The system will combine a new-build pipeline from Borger, Texas to Phoenix with a reversal of Kinder Morgan's existing SFPP pipeline from Colton, California to Phoenix, enabling east-to-west product flows into California. Both companies highlighted the project's role in improving supply flexibility and long-term logistics reliability for West Coast markets. The Western Gateway Pipeline is targeting an in-service date of mid-2029.
