Located in the Aspen Building, it transforms the site of a former bookstore into a flexible, multi-purpose hub for students, staff, and community. Thoughtfully designed for versatility and acoustic comfort, The Link offers a balanced environment—supporting both quiet, focused work and energetic, social gatherings.

OneStudio D+A is thrilled to introduce our latest workplace design—the new Reno headquarters for Ormat Technologies.

When Ormat outgrew their former headquarters, they sought a space that supported the nature of their work and embodied their brand identity and core values. Our design reimagines the traditional office, creating an innovative hub where every workstation connects seamlessly to collaborative areas that support dynamic teamwork.

Flexibility is at the heart of the design, with Falkbuilt modular partition systems allowing Ormat to reconfigure the workspace as company needs evolve. No workstation is isolated; each one is positioned near spaces that inspire collaboration —from casual lounges and huddle rooms to inviting café zones. At the very center of the building lies “the Heart,” a central kitchen and gathering zone.

The entire space reflects Ormat’s story and commitment to renewable energy. Thoughtfully curated artwork highlights their values, history, and regional dedication. Biophilic elements—warm wood tones, abundant natural light, and both live and preserved plants—blend seamlessly with dedicated wellness areas, creating a supportive and comfortable environment where employees can truly thrive.

Ormat’s success can be attributed to the remarkable collaboration and integration of the entire team from the very beginning of the design process. This intentional approach enabled us to make proactive, thoughtful decisions rather than merely reacting to challenges. Our partnership evolved into genuine friendship, and the outstanding end result stands as a true testament to the power of pure collaboration.

Ormat Technologies' Reno headquarters, featured in Northern Nevada Business Weekly!

Ormat finds global headquarters in Reno The work-from-home business model may be fine for some companies, but for Ormat Technologies, onsite collaboration between different teams and departments is crucial to successfully developing and operating geothermal facilities.

A standout feature of Snell & Wilmer’s Reno office is the integration of interior architectural materials as functional artwork. A striking bookmatched porcelain slab flows seamlessly from the wall to the countertop, making a dramatic statement in the reception area. Above, modular ceiling panels offer the warmth of natural wood while enhancing acoustic comfort. Dimensional acoustic panels strategically placed in high-traffic areas combine form and function, reducing noise while adding an artistic touch.

Join us in celebrating Erik Fong's six years of dedicated service on the City of Reno’s Arts & Culture Commission! As the official advisory body to the Reno City Council, the RACC develops and implements programs, policies, and practices to support Reno’s vibrant arts scene.

During his tenure, Erik chaired the Public Art Committee and served on the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) Art Advisory Committee, where he championed the role of public art in shaping Reno’s identity through the cultural and urban landscape.

Erik’s passion for art spurred his interest in the RACC, and it will continue on in his work as principal of OneStudio D+A. Erik will continue to passionately advocate for art in the firm's work, viewing it not only as a way to enhance the built environment but also as a catalyst for meaningful community dialogue and a means to deepen connections between people and place.
